Chopstick question ?:o

So I am looking at buying a pair of Chopsticks, I am riding sir francis bacons right now, and I was wondering if the measured length of the chopstick was longer than the listed length, kinda like the hellbents and such.

Another question. I am looking for a rockered ski that is not pussy, I want to be able to charge through chop without the ski flop, is this the best ski for that?

i have no idea about the lengths. but, if you're looking to charge baker, this is the ski. it's super stiff, and... well, a charging ski. haha

I guess a better question, is if I want a charger rockered ski that wont puss out in chop, should I look at the JJ, Hellbent, or chopstick.

I have them and the 185 measures to 183.

I think that they are one of the most versatile charging rocker ski on the market if you don't think that 185 is too short. I used them in all conditions at the beginning of the year, I have not used them much since I got Spatulas because I have been in love with the reverse sidecut, but I still love the chopsticks because they are a really smooth ride and they carve very well.

Also, some people might suggest something with flat or camber underfoot for better stability in variable conditions, but this will significantly decrease the pivots and slarves that reverse camber is famous for, and if you have good balance you will enjoy the increased maneuverability.

DONT GET A CHOPSTIK THERE SO SHIT AND IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN YOUR BACONS WILL BE WAY BETTER TO CHARGE POW!

Get the Armada JJ or Armada ARG they are the two sickest skis ever! Tanner charges hard on them with no probs and unless ur better than him the JJ's are gong to be perfect.

I also have hellbents and I feel that they are only good in pure powder and ok on groomers, I felt that the hellbents would flop around like crazy in chop, they were super unstable when the chopsticks would kill it.
Unfortunately I have not ridden the JJ so I can't comment on that, but I will add that when you are on super hard icy conditions camber will absorb some of the shock that will be sent through your body on a reverse camber ski, but that has not stopped me at all.

Have you ridden chopsticks? The Chopstick has a much more solid flex for charging chop and the reverse camber will make it way better in pow, unless yours have been beaten into reverse camber, and then they would be way noody.

As far as the ARG I have not ridden that one either, but if you do want to dabble with reverse sidecut it will greatly increase the powder performance, but it will be harder to get used to on hardpack, but i have ridden the spatulas in all conditions and again I find the increased pivotability very enjoyable, and you can still carve them on groomers but it is just completely different then carving a normal ski. Also there are many more options than just the ARG.

STFU, I hate people who rage, I know I like the Chopsticks, I rode them on  one groomer/powder run, I just wasn't sure about the sizing, and the beef. If you have anything worth my time like "I think they are too stiff" thats cool, but just saying they are shitty makes you look way retarded. I will probably end up with Chopsticks or Kuros because I want something solid that will float absolutely anything, thus stiff flex, and rocker on a wide platform. So really I kinda want to know of the JJ is a comparably stiff flex I guess. And I got to demo the ARGs this fall, and they are not versatile enough for my mostly lift accessed skiing. (stupid unstable Montana snowpack).

I ski the 182 Bacon right now, and love the length, and I think with the almost center mount in the Chopsticks, it would feel even more playful and turny butter awesome.

dude you have no idea what you're talking about.


I rode the chopsticks for a month, they blow chopped up snow apart, are very easy to turn in soft snow, and are fun over all.  the only place I found them lagging was in really heavy snow as the tails tended to hook, due to the fact that they are very wide.  I ended up switching out skis for some atomic bent chetlers.  they don't blow chop apart as much as the chopsticks due, but in heavy snow the early taper tails rule.  I would also look into the rossi s7 in a 187,  and yes the jj is a fun ski too.

S7's are pretty stiff, they charge. check out ON3P skis, go to the cults and search ON3P

I too have bacons, the first and best ones. I got chopsticks recently and mounted them at -2 from center and basically as long as its not a shitty east coast ice day they are fun. better the faster you're going. I havn't had a pow day on them yet but they are super solid and i can't wait. they don't really chatter at all either which i think is kind weird since they have rocker. My thought is the chopsticks are sick for charging just about everything and going as big as you want. I did a pondskim on them switch 2 weeks ago and they slayed that, so i think they'll be good in pow.

bacons are still however the sickest skis every created

ever.

i think they are pretty true to length.  i took a picture with them next to my 186 prophets and 191 ants and they are right where they should be.  i would say go for them they are super fun, probably the most fun ski i have ever been on.  definately a charger ski and will kill any and all crud.  seriously just ripping gs turns through crud at 45 feels like you are on a groomer, definately doesn't feel like that on bents.  i absolutely love them, let me know if you got any more questions i could probably answer them, i have skied them in pretty much everything from icy moguls to 3 feet of fresh.

The reason they don't chatter is the rocker. The skis that chatter are soft skis, they pick up, and slap back down, but the rocker allows the tips and tails to stay up, and they don't go slap, slap, slap. Some softer rocker skis will, but most wont.

Well, due to a new screamin deal, I have found myself a pair of 179 Hellbents!!!

Thanks for all of the input though, I think I will keep the Bacons for the charging ski, and since I can never get enough Butter, and I ski Baker, Stevens, Bridger, and Backcountry, I figure the Hellbents will be SWEET. I might get an Armada hookup next year anyway, so I can always change my mind. Peace!!

im sorry but you sir are a fucking idiot.  i garauntee you have never skied the chopsticks.  they rule every condition there is.

and then you talk about them being heavy, and then you list the b squad and the mothership.  my chopsticks with fks's weigh less than my buddys motherships with no bindings on them.

over-rated.... doubt that, pretty much no one has them, so how could they be over rated.  if anything the pontoons and hellbents are overrated because every time someone wants a rockered ski there are 50 kids saying to get hellbents.

so please for everyones sake just shut the hell up
