Mistake? It would be a mistake for some kid to buy twin tips and start skiing like a park rat when he or she might possibly have a career in ski racing. Now that's a mistake.

Just because you race dusnt mean your technically a better skier, at the end of the day its who gets down the hill fastest and it dusnt matter that much about your technique, although technique goes along way to helping you do that, like with anything the kids that are good, they are good skiers, iv saw a lot of kids racing at high level who still have poor technique.
