it really depends on what you want in a pair of skates,

i wanted a super light hard boot with a freestlye frame so i have the roces m12 oli short boot with xsjado mook frames, and im super happy with them.  its a pretty stiff setup but thats what i like,

xsjados are fucking sick though

but i would say go for razors or valos

out of all the skates that i have tried, i love my valos the best.. xsjados are a close second

absolutely not! both my boyfriend and i had problems with those skates. the first day they skate amazing, but after that they fuck up the top of your foot/ankle no matter how loose you keep em. also the foot wraps suck, we had to trade them out for stockwell wraps. if you're looking for xsjados, i'd say go for the chris farmers.

need more info than that.

also, dont get Xsjados. sorry allen, but i think they arent the ideal skate to learn on. get Razors, Valos or some other hardboot if youre just learning to skate.

as do i, but in my personal opinion and from the opinion of many other professional and expert skaters i ride with, it is better to learn on hardboots. also, its an easier transition for a skier to make.

again my opinion. if you want name drops on these skaters i'll give em to you haha.

Yeah, right where it starts to go down towards your toes, unlike the farmers, there's a big plastic piece and it pinches the top of your foot. It happened to both of us, but it may be different for other people. I have super high arches, and it hit right at the top of my arch so I think that mustve been why I had problems with them. I wish I could still skate them, but I know my second pair is definitely going to be Xsjados.

Good plan about swapping the foot wraps, fuck the Wilson's suck. And I have no idea about v cutting the Farmers, I haven't skated them. But they don't have the same strap so that's why I suggested them. I would say hit up amall forum and post it in ask JH.

And to the people talking about learning on different skates and the difference, it's kind of ridiculous. I just started skating just a few months ago and I first learned on size 11 Razors (I'm an 8), then switched to Deshis, then from there went to Valos, then skated those Xsjados for a little, tried some Remz, and now I've got my own pair of Valos. Remz were the only skates that I couldn't skate. You can start off in almost any skate, but I would suggest staying away from Remz if you're a beginner. Xsjados would actually be pretty awesome for a beginner, the soul plate is fucking hugeeee.

soul plate size does not = better skate or easier to skate. i just get tired of hearing that. i can skate Oli Shorts just as well as Xsjados. hell, my friend owns both of them and does it all the time.

also did you ever take into consideration that learning on a skate that was 3 sizes too big for you might have biased your opinion? then switching to softboot Deshis? haha thats ridiculous. i skate CH1s and yeah everyone can skate them but i find them to be a little bit more difficult for newer skaters to fully maximize thei potential. yeah, in theory you can learn on any skate, but im saying that if you learn on a hardboot, that FITS, mind you haha, it gives you a better feel for skates and gives your form (yes your form) a better base to build upon.

also, dont call peoples opinons ridiculous. its dumb. at least add an IMO in there somewhere.

change my mind, there are definitely people out there who have pinions that need to be called ridiculous. for example, Kim Jong Il, child pornography advocates, and extremist religious groups.

I said it was kind of ridiculous, and I also didn't call you out personally. If you took it the wrong way, sorry.

And with my own experience, going from CH1's to Xsjados was a huge difference, you can't deny that the soul plate on the CH1 is smaller than most. Maybe I've just noticed it, and I could definitely feel the difference. Awesome that you can skate both just as well, it's not the same for everyone, where was the IMO for that one?

All in all, what I was getting at was that you can learn on almost any skate, just like you said. I knew I wasn't skating the Deshis to their full potential, but I still learned some stuff on them, which is all I was concerned about. New skaters aren't necessarily concerned with style or form, just learning some basic tricks. Once you become comfortable on your skates and everything, the style comes naturally, no matter what skates you're on.
