3 large jumps that are pretty good

5 mediums, 4 are nice

like 4,000 rails, only a few of which are actually maintained

Not too bad, I was riding Keystone for a little while but now I'm riding Breck most of the time.

Keystone's setup is getting kinda played out to me. I've been liking Breck way better lately, especially their jumps. They feel way better to me.

The only problem is the midseason crowds....there's no park lift at Breck. 15 minute liftlines usually don't happen at the A51 lift.

take the extra 20 minute drive to breck, half as many kids in the park, people are way more chill and the WHOLE park is maintained regularly. just my 2 cents.

damn, keystone haters...

You could head over to CALIrado at breck and their medium park is a lot of fun once you start to ignore the 1,000,000 plus scenester snowboarders with leather jackets and sunglasses on.  Personally, the parking situation there is what pisses me off to not go there the most (you park, ride a bus, ride a gondola, ride a lift, THEN get to ski).

Keystones been pretty good this year, theyve had a few screwups on the jumplines some days, but those kinks seem to be mostly worked out.  #1 and #2 in the bigline are pretty sick, #3 just has a funky smell to it, and most kids arent shredding it too hard lately. The Medium line is good fun, and theres 2 more medium jumps to hit towards the bottom.  They have bout 1000 rails set up, and the ruts this year arent too bad at compared to years past.  Although, a change up in some features seems to be due, its starting to get a little mundane after 2 months of it. 

But if youre coming out for a week, you really can't go wrong with keystone, fast laps, easy parking, and a fun park without much wind like breck.  If youre here for a week, check out both though.

yeah but keystones got all the competition gotta ski like its the superbowl people, and i swear i see like 5 different tom wallisches there a day. i like brecks more relaxed fun vibe alot more.
brecks big line is better, and park lane is fun as hell. but yeah only thing that sucks is the wind.

I hate the parking at keystone too though, if you get there lateish, you have to walk about 12 miles to get to the chair, and then at the end of the day it is just like...fuuuuuck I'm tired I don't want to walk... I can't take that shit.

And the third at keystone is different, but it is most definitely my favorite of the three, it is just...weird.

if you know your shit you dont have to walk at all at keystone, get there around nine and if the main lot is full you park in browns cabin lot, then hop on the green route bus that picks you up right outside that lot and it will take you to the bottom of peru lift, like thirty steps total, and even if you didnt park in browns lot just get on green route and it takes you to peru, thats my favorite way, then after just hop back on and ride over.

but keystones park is pretty fuckin fun. the step downs on 1-70 are fun and the first two of the big line are sooooo nice. i would ski breck way more often if it wasnt so crowded and had such shitty parking. but their park is way fun, and freeways jumps are way better than keystones. i try to do both of them a week. that way i dont get bored of either

Dude, nothing is more fun than slapping your skis against a pipe 6 inches of the ground.  Oh wait, I forgot that shit is a waste of space and it crowds the park like none other.  Breck has some ridiculous rails and boxes set up.  Keystone needs to get their shit together.

To the last few posts: why would they make their park the same as Brecks? A bit redundant if you ask me.  Its nice having Breck and Keystone as two completely different parks.  I like that they mix it up and try some different stuff, although I would prefer less corrugated pipe.

Lately I've been shredding breck over keystone. I just feel like Park Lane has way better flow to it than keystone's park. Plus the new setup IMO kinda sucks, too much circus shit and corregated pipe. I'd rather see more simple, solid, medium sized setups that I'm real comfortable to learn stuff on. Alot of their simple downrails and such are pretty big, which is still good fun, just not the best thing to throw new stuff on. I've really been liking the three rail line after jumps up top at Breck, its the perfect size for learning. The only thing that really sucks is the lift lines, especially now since lift 5 is down for the season. Colorado is always jam packed, and the traverse from Rocky Mountain is starting to piss me off, it gets kinda tiring after doing it all day.

i think this is because everything in A51 is virtually in the same place...whereas at breck, freeway is separate from park lane so you don't see people hitting the big stuff so much.

the whole "vibe" argument doesn't make any sense to me. i've met/talked to a bunch of nice people at keystone...way more than at breck (since nobody really talks to each other?). sure, a lot of really good skiers go there and throw down but i don't get why that makes it a competition...

today was my first time ever being in the keystone park, and here is my take on it.

Initial impression: this thing never ends. It seems like there is just feature after feature. One of the best and biggest parks I have ever seen.

The big jumps looked fucking epic. It was my first day in the park and I am still feeling the altitude so I stuck to the smaller jumps. There is some mad talent at Keystone and there were definitely some people just slaying that shit.

The medium table line was alright. I find the second and third jumps have really long tables without much advantage. Thought they would be a big better.

What is with all of the rails at Keystone having little or no jump onto them? I mean I understand that they are trying to set them up urban, but it is just rediculous on some of them.

And I agree with all of you guys here about certain features for the 'tight pants snowboarders who love handplants'. there are so many features that I am just like WTF is this?

Anyways, dont want to bash. This is one of the best parks I have ever been to hands down, and I have been all over. But they could make a little adjustments to make it absolutely perfect.

If you go to Breck....all of those problems are fixed!  Keystone was pretty sick a few months ago and then the jumps started getting weird.

Same here, the big line was too slow so we were hitting the medium, which was also all fucked up from what they had earlier this year.  So gay, those mediums were nice before.

yeah they had a nike 6.0 shoot today, sick set up below that spin/pipe thing. it was a step up, like 15 ft to a 40 ft step down that was throwing them so high, looked sick. I cant wait to see that wall ride stair case combo get hit

my 2 cents... Keystone is pretty dope in that it has lots of variety. The vibe is pretty intense, which can be both good and bad, but nobody is gonna heckle you or anything haha. People can just be pretty serious about their skiing in A51, which is cool. Their jumps, I do not like all that much. The decks are way longer than the ones in Park lane (breck), which isn't bad really, but they have these super poppy, launch style lips that make it hard to stay composed and keep style. You just kinda feel like you are getting tossed. That being said however, I like to hit their jumps because if you can hit those, then you will be able to throw down on something smoother (like breck).

Breck's park is where the magic happens for me. chiller vibe, smoother trannies in lips and landings and more of an overally slopestyle flow to it. Freeway is sick, this year they built the jumps out a little further from the trees, which is good cause last year I washed out on the first just and ended up wrapping around a tree, landing me in the ICU for a week. The wind can be an issue, and the parking blows, but i think its worth it overall. When I'm at breck, i'm just chillin doing my thing. key can just be intimidating and frustrating.


I have had great days at both though, and switching it up between the two is the way to go.
