rossi scratch 100 vs. salomon s810 Ti

I got a new pair of Mike Nick 171cm and looking for bindings. I know the Look got very good reviews but I can't find it in my local ski shop. They carry rossi and salomon, so I was wondering if I should get the rossi scratch 100 or the salomon s810 Ti. Both are 03/04 models
Thanks in advance!

rossi is exactly the same as look, except for release points. They are not cheap bindings at all. I use scratch 140, it has NEVER, not ONCE released when I didn't want it to. 100 is the same with lower din. Awesome fuckin binding, I'd take the 100 over even the Salo S912.

But remember, salomon bindings don't violate you when you land in the back seat,

As much as I dislike Rossi bindings:
Get the Rossi. The S810Ti is worthless. Salomon needed to make a new binding, instead, they just put a softer spring in an existing one. That doesn't work. I can't tell you how many pairs we got back last season. Heels ripping off like no one's business.
However, if you were to say 912Ti, I'd take that over *any* rossi/look.

salomons are much heavier than rossignol or looks so get the rossis if that matters but if not you cant go wrong with either binding

Please ignore the previous poster, as they don't know shit.
Rossi/look, even the new Tis, are heavier than Salomon 912Ti for a comparable DIN ski. Marker's Ti1100 is lighter than both.

^All true, but yu fail to mention markers suck. Yes last years Scratch 100 binding weighed over 1300 grams, whereas the 912ti weighed about 900.

word, I didn't say they were super nice, just that they're light... and fuckin bombproof, you can't do a thing to wreck 'em.
I don't like rossi/look, their binding screws suck and rip out and then I have to deal with pissed off customers.
They have improved recently (I've dealt with 'em for 5 years now) but they have a lot to prove before I'll recommend 'em again.

^ I dunno, I had my 100s at 9 cause I didn't want to max them out, my 140s are now at 10. It's better to have it set somewhere in the middle of the range than near the top, the spring lasts longer. So if you need a high DIN go for the 140s.

Salomon bindings are shitty. they break. a lot.
my 912Ti's heel track snapped twice in 6 days.. and they spend MONTHS screwing u around... Rossi - very good

I don't really see why people don't like the s912 ti salo binding, I think there sweet and very light.. there on my racing skis tho.. so they don't take any impact from jumps or rails.

this is how i look at it.
i have Rossi bindnigs on my PE's and they are amazing, hold up real well and only release when i need them to. my friend has mike nicks and put solomon bindings on them. he is always poping out and pre releasing. we are both the same weight, same size ski and same din. i will take a bigger hit and he doesn something smaller and ends up poping out. its not much of a comparision but based on what i see i would never buy solomon bindings

Rossi and Look Bindings release when you want them to. My Salomon bindings release like none other and are heavy as shit. Get the rossis

don't get salomon, besides breaking the whole thing feels kinda lose, I tried the Rossi bindings and they had a much tighter feel, but maybe that's just cuz my brakes are set a bit too far apart...

I got the s810 ti binding this year. The control wings on the toepiece work themselves loose every day i go riding. so i just make a habit out of bring a cool tool and the correct bit and just tighten it up. I got these new for 79 bucks so i cant bitch to much but i would never pay full retail for these.

^^I got them through a buddy who works at a shop. Gets stuff cheap. Just regret not spending a little more and getting the next level up. I will probably get new skiis and binding next year and use these on my rock/jib skiis till they break.
