I'm 5'9" 145 lbs and I'm new to freestyle skiing. I saw a sick deal on some Line Invaders, but I was too late to grab the 178 length. Would the 171 be too short? I already have an all mountain charging ski, so these will be purely park and mostly rails.
171 will be OK, especially if you are starting out. And the Invaders are cheap enough where you won't break the bank if you decide to get new skis next year.
it will be easier to pick tricks up on a 171. you will be fine.
but consider picking up a new pair from www.tramdock.com maybe sometime in the off season, for next year.
The pair I'm getting IS new, $172 on d-structure for the 2008. But I just got a super duper code to backcountry.com that makes it $450 for this years Invaders + bindings in the size I want. It would be like$ 410 for last years invaders + bindings in a size im not sure about, so I have no clue.
I'd deff get those 178's if you still can, I'm like 5'6" or 5'7" and I have the 171's and they're not at all too long, they're light and soft so extra length is kinda nice.
nooooo. having extra length isn't always nice... say in the park, when you're spinning super fast off of a jump. it's only more of a chance to catch an edge. in park, you should go smaller probably (171) because you don't need all mountain performance becase of your other skis...
same thing. its my money and i already bought another pair of skis with it. but im way to afraid to ask em if i can buy another pair. i see such good deals all the time and i want them. same thing with goggles
