i absolutely love TinTin. Read/own all the books and loved reading them when i was younger. Even now i still pull em out every few years and read through
ha, i'm such a TinTin loser that i even recognize what scene that picture is from. I think it's from Destination Moon when haddock calls calculus a goat and somehow he goes into like a coma trance.
I have a 2 MB connection and I had to wait for 40 seconds to type this.. anyway to fix this slowness?
Anyway, Herge's drawings are so damn good, his world is so full of texture and perfection of lines and to top it off the Tintin stories have such rich characters and wide variety of humor. I read the "Secret of the Unicorn" and "The treasure of Rakham the red" every time I visit my folks.
Captain Haddock is such a G. Rollin' the booze, gypsy bitches and got that monocle standing crunk like.
i heard that its going to be based on the 2 books about red rackham and haddocks family line. Andy Serkis is supposed to be the Captain in it.
I don't care if its meant to be a childrens movie, i will be seeing it. I hope it sparks a rise in American tintin readers, i think its so much better than most comics.
I used to read Tintin so much growing up, except because my dad was french, all of the books were in french... Still good. But then I was turned on to the Tv show in English and COT DAMN. I loved Tintin so much more after that.
Tintin is a freakin boss. Haddock is even more of a g, he drinks whiskey and doesn't afraid of anything.
The new movie will ruin my childhood. I know a fair number of the adventures backwards and forwards including Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure and there are bits in the trailer that are completely fabricated and not a part of the original plot. :(
Tintin is fucking amazing, definitely gonna have to see the movie. Read every single book multiple times, actually just reread all the ones I have this past week haha. Have to say my favorite is The Calculus Affair, and the Thompsons and their wordplay always makes me laugh. Asterix is so sick too, some of the wordplay in those books are just so damn good.
Aw man yes tintin is so good! i've read and own all the books and i have some collectible stuff too. slightly dubious about the film though, it may murder what is a fairly large chunk of my childhood. also, whoever mentioned calvin and hobbes was correct in saying these are two of the best comics around
Calvin and Hobbes is also the shit... Foxtrot is really the only comic still doing it for me, although Pearls Before Swine also has its moments. Seriously though, does anybody else read Asterix?
i think i must've read all those books at least 20 times, i loved that shit. capitaine haddock was such a fuckin boss. i actually didnt even know they had that shit in english
