Is skiing not the solution to all of life's problems? When your mad, go skiing and feel better, or throw down crazy shit, it's a win win. Feel sad and the tranquility of a simple carve brings you back to feelin good.
i was thinkin about skiin today for the hundred millionth time since season close and i got all zoned out (like usual). I got all poetic, thinkin about how skiing works, not just the cosmetics of it. I mean the way a fresh carve feels as the edge runs through the snow, or how you feel at that apex of your airtime, that weightlessness where you feel free of everything, or locking onto a rail and knowing you own it, or the way the snow feels under your skis as you slide to a stop, and especially that clean crisp air going in and out of your lungs with an unmistakable feeling in the scent, characteristic only to ski hills letting you know your're at the one place you can really feel your best. (Run-on sentence like it was my job) I'm sure everyone on NS can relate. I hate long ass posts as much as the next guy, but just take a second and remember how it all feels. I love this shit.
peace,
on a seperate note, who's given up sex for skiing at least once in their life, say 'I'.

i feel ya man, the exactly what im trying to say in my post. (Why skiing really matters)
Its just really nice to be able to have somethign you can look forward to after a long day, or something have can fully bring out any form of self expression. SKiing is Life, there is nothing like it anywheres, in anything...

im with ya man
i only started skiing a couple years ago, but its become a part of my life
i live in ohio, so we dont really have any hills, so its sorta weird the way i feel about skiing
u people out west and more east got your mountains, and when i go out there, it seems like some people take it for granted - like its just a place to chill or look good
our hills are nothing, so it sorta makes the experience more pure in my opinion
and it hard to explain the sheer joy in my heart when i start to see 5 or 6 inches comin down cuz i KNOW that means ski seasons comin
sorry bout the rant, but i was just thinking bout this yesterday cuz i found out im goin to Tahoe in the spring
fine, but if i die, im totally gonna kick your ass - me after being dared to jump off my friends house into his pool

skiing is like the best thing in the world ...
but have you ever had it all snached away from you ? just like finding out that you cant go to the hill today and thats all you have been looking forward to ? or when your skis beak or somthing for me thats the worse thing in the world
so i guess feeling so passonate about skiing kinda does have a downside but its all worth it when u finally do get onto the snow

no for real. my friends little brother has clinically been diagnosed with depression, he's totally unmotivated and on all kinds of medication. so my friend took his little brother skiing two weekends ago and its like 180 time, the kids all of a sudden motivated and happy. obviously doctors everywhere need to start perscribing it.

Yeh, i totally understand it and feel the same way. Skiing is just kinda a mind clearer for everything and everything is perfect when im on my skis.. its just me, my skis, and the people im skiing with...and nothing else pretty much. Nothing bothers me, not a thing is cluttering, and I could never possibly be unhappy while skiing. Even on the shittiest day, I can have fun because I'm skiing. Oh, and I cant say 'I' because I'm only 15, but I sure as hell would.

ya, skiing is senerity.
But more importantly, it's been briefly taken away from me, I picked up my skis today, got some P10's thrown on them and I was doing some ollies and nollies outside and I ripped the front piece out a couple threads. Now whether it was like that and I didn't notice, or actually ripped it out, i don't know, but what a piss off. Punks at Skiis and Biikes better give me some cash back when they fix it. Call it mental anguish.
