yeah there's funny parts in it, but this is no comedy.  I saw it and think it was done very well.  This movie tackles issues such as prejudice, racism, becoming old, death, ethnic divides, friendship, change and many others.  I had a feeling what was coming at the end happened, but I thought it was sick.  Overall very good movie, and should be watched.

good movie.  laughed a lot.   the spooks part blew my mind.   

all the acting sucked except for clint.  but i heard he did it on purpose that those hmong people had no acting experience.

Amazing movie, I really enjoyed it. Great story, pretty damn funny without losing integrity, and some of the scenes were really powerful. And Clint is the fucking man. It's really hard to compare them because they're too entirely different movies... I think you're right in saying movies like DK rarely win best picture and that this one probably will get it. It deserves it, too. Much as I loved Clint, Heath Ledger's performance was definitely more impressive.. but if you take the best actor from each movie out of it (Ledger and Clint, respectively) DK becomes an OK movie and Gran Torino is still pretty good, so I'll go ahead and agree with you.

Really? I hated him until he drank a Pabst, then he became OK in my book. He improved a lot over the course of the movie. Plus he was the source of much hilarious bashing from Clint.

gook is a derogatory term for koreans. he says 'spook' which is a derogatory to blacks which is who he is talking to in that part of the movie.
