Im going to show you some options for you to research and decide upon


canon optura 10 or 20- very good beginner camera with some good manual settings so you will learn how to film and use a camera 300 bucks ish
trv900- 3ccd, pretty cheap for the chip size 800-900
hv10 or 20- hd, cheap, if you want high deff and dont have alot of cash this is a great option

alright i can't find the optura 10 or 20 in 300 bucks cause 300 or lower is really my budget right now..

For under 300 you wont have any options, you pretty much get what you pay for.

Yeah for $300 or less it's more or less which one feels the best in your hand. Head to an electronics store and try out a few of them. MiniDV is best, dont fall for any cheap HDV cams. Find something you like with options you're looking for and shoot with it as much as you can. The video quality wont be anywhere near professional, but after awhile your skills will be limited by the camera and then you're ready for a big-boy camera. If all you're looking for is something to tape you and your buddies with and put a few vids on youtube, then any consumer camera you find a best buy or even Wal Mart should be fine.
