My friend and I have big dreams but have no idea where to start.

So for awhile now my friend and I have been thinking about starting making some ski/snowboard outerwear. We have a few designs drawn out but we really have no idea where to start. So this goes out to anyone with experience in outerwear production. Any tips on where to start? Where to find the necessary materials? Also any other additional info you can give that may help us out.
Thanks in advance.

Make something you KNOW NS will like (big and bright) and overhype the shit out of it.

there are several ways you can try and get your product on the market the way i would recommend if you plan on continuing your outerwear line is to contact an agency that connects designers with manufactures so they should be able to give you a bunch of quote for how much different companies will charge to manufacture your product often the price are much cheaper if you put in big orders so just ask around id love to be able to tell you the names of some of these agencies but i live in aus so it would be kinda unpractical
the other way you can get your product out there to contact small ski outerwear companies and ask them to pick up and support you products the downside to this is you dont have control over whats going on
but the first thing i recommend you do if your serious is copyright the designs you have to bigger companies dont just come and take with out giving yo anything
i hope that is of some help to you good luck guys

email companies like saga, LD, airblaster, sessions, SMS, Holden and all other companies that are still reasonably new to the game and see if they can help you out at all. I'm sure they won't give you their direct contacts but may be able to point you in the direction of some fountains of knowledge.
Peace, hope it works out for you man.

Yeah man, i realised they were hell established after rereading my post. I felt stupid and hoped noone would call me out. You ruined my plan bro. But yeah, they are and they have a sick customer service setup so will probably help you out anyway.peace

i also meant to say... "but good call, if you want to know where to get this stuff done, go to the source."
or even go to your shop, and talk to the people there.
Samples are expensive to get made up, so make sure you know what you want and spend the money on a good product. Having a crazy marketing budget comes secondary to the product. Web sites are crazy costly. Print ads are costly. but word of mouth and referral are priceless. Dont just rely on one factory or manufacturer. If you can have the production done locally for the first few seasons do it. You can be in front of the process, and understand what it takes to make this stuff properly. If you dont have the backing to start big, start small. Make 3 or 4 pieces, then see what you can do.
good luck.
