Natural/Organic vs. Manmade/Chemical

Where did the whole bias that everything natural must be good for you, and any chemical is bad for you. I'm sure a lot of people are going to disagree with me, but people have said to me a bunch of times when trying to explain why they're taking some all natural organic nutrition supplement that "It's natural, it can't be bad for you" There is so much natural shit out there that is in fact not good for you, but people will go for that over a manmade drug that was tailor-made for the specific ailment. Feel free to agree, disagree and discuss, but it just seems to me that people are too caught up in words like natural and organic in the things they buy.

personally, eating natural foods is very important to me. I look at it this way, the more natural it is, the less chemicals have been added, and I believe most chemicals are bad for you. Why? Well theres a buttload of reasons, but my main thing is that many synthetic chemicals do not exist in natural foods (or in the same quantities), so your body is not made to process them. Your body will process them, but it will probably take some extra effort and can have strange side effects. For me, the more natural, the better. Its all about being in harmony with nature haha. It sounds cheesy, but i think its true.Â

Nah dude, everything from the environment is good for you , like plutonium.
Most preservatives aren't harmful at all. My chemistry inclined roommate explained it all to me one day and even though I've forgotten all the information, I remember that it really doesn't matter if its "organic" or not.
