Urban rail busts and popo in ski movies.

Today most ski movies have some sort of urban slayage in them. Sometimes the popo busts the riders and makes them leave since slaying an urban is technically illegal. (vandalism, possibly trespassing) The film companies pay for the riders to hit that rail for their movie. Couldn't the ski film companies easily get charged for supporting their riders hitting the urbans? Has this happened before?

and with shooting permits i know companies can get them at some spots, but i know they dont have a shooting permit to hit a rail in the middle of downtown denver or some other city.

i know people who have their record light disabled for the sole purpose of recording police confrontations.

what i personally do it write something up to my town ship saying that on this date could i grind some rail located around the town. then i say that this is for makingn my own video and any damage/mess i make i am responsible for. every time they have given me a thumbs up

ive never heard of permits....just insurance things the film company has to try and cover them n their riders asses and it seems like its still a luck thing on the type of person who busts u whether they buy into it and let u or give u a hard time..

how much trouble can u potentially get for hitting an urban. Cause i was planning on hitting one at school nearby me and i don't really wanna get a $600 fine or worse. PS: the school is private

^ Haha did they realy? The worst part is I could see models in some vouge or something standind on rails as some new urban fashion.

As for permits. Ive never tried to get one and only been caught once and the guy was real cool about it.

Well actually they didn't mean to mislead them.  It was a misunderstanding, they came out and found what they were doing, but they were cool. (unless the lss bonus features were lying)

if you look into the viewfinder it will say REC, it just doesnt have the light on the outside to show that it is in fact recording

so then popo would have to grab the camera and look through the viewfinder in order to find out it recorded the whole thing

Most cops aren't going to waste time and paperwork to arrest somebody riding urban rails.  They'll just tell you to leave and if you go on your way, then no big deal.  The problems would arise when people A, start giving the cops attitude instead of just leaving and push the cops to make an arrest, or B, the owner of the property is dead set on pressing charges for tresspassing/vandalism and the cops have to take action.  So as long as you're cool with the cops and go along with the program, usually there won't be a problem.  Now security guards are a whole other story.

i dont think so because they allready have the cameras in their cars, and they cant control them. they dont like it because if they do something (push you,beat you or pull a gun) and they have no intent you have proof and they can lose their job and be in mad shit with the wifey.

you would be correct. we were filming a cop at a skate spot and he was like "im sure you guys arent filming me cuz you know its illegal to film a police officer" we were like "oh....."

every skater an skier video where the 5-0 rolls up i've seen the cops always say "is that thing on?"

i still don't understand why i couldn't film an altercation with a cop???

if there not gonna do anything bad then why does it matter, the ones i've seen where the kids have the lights blacked out an they say its "off" the cp never makes them set it down, so the reason isn't because you can;t have somethin in your hand while your talking to them

permits are easy to get but most people don't know how to get them. i've only been caught once at this church and the paster/minister or what ever he was just asked if he could watch lol

That cop lied to you.  You can film anything you want in public, where people have no expectation of privacy.

one urban we were setting up in daylight at a university, a secuity gaurd came by and said dont get hurt and clean off the snow on the stairs and its cool
