Well as with every year, springtime hits, the snow melts and all the members get pissed off at us.   We can take it, and hell even we have gotten tired of seeing this site over and over...

SO this is the official thread to throw out what you like, what you hate, and anything you think needs to be added to the site.   Then we'll take alllll of what you say and begin building NS 08/09.

So instead of starting another hate thread on us, just cut out the middleman and let us know here.

And keep it constructive, if you're a douchebag we'll never get anything done.

Add foreign language forums, maybe French & German to start and others as demand grows.

NS should be pushing its international potential and this would be an easy way to do it.

I would like to be able to sort threads like ebay (most recent by date, most recent by bumps, oldest, etc.) so I can focus on the new ones only.  I don't want to see a stupid thread that everyone flames for two weeks.

embed link for videos, like that found on youtube. would be nice if sharing vids outside of the site was easier.

fix searchbar. it seems way to picky, maybe it could search for related terms not just exact matches.

also maybe in the profile people could add comments like on ebay about sales? And recieve rattings good, neutral, bad

why not start fresh on the good b/s list. WHen there is a sale people usually notice a name and whether they are a good buyer/seller. Use the posts to make the thread. Its not like a bad b/s can't make a sale in the first place and the list is stopping them. Besides whats more likely to stop a transaction, whether a buyer on page 8 of the thread was called a bad seller or 4 kids write in the thread made that day.


I like the comment section. Maybe a log of how many transations the kid has made but that would have to be done by members becasue obviously NS shouldn't play a part in this.

I would like to see...
-A page of the orange names(easier to search for them to ask questions)
-more specific searchbar
-If possible, clean up aliases and dead accounts

other than that, I'm totally satisfied wit ns.

I don't know if we'd want to make that public... could cause too much drama. 

However, the idea thus far is to make it so that moderators can see the votes of each person, and then we'll just delete/ban based on their actions.

1. Layout is damn boring add some exciting colors or change it around .
2. Split the Buy sell trade up like this:
I. Buy
  A.Skis, Boots , Poles
  B. Apparel
  C. Cameras And Media
  D.Other
II.Sell

 C. Cameras And Media

III.Trade
  A. Skis, Boots, Poles

3. Make Cults not only have sub forums but forums and sub forums.
4.  Good Buyer, Good Seller  Should have a feedback thing like this:
Good Selling Transactions: (# Of Them)
Good Buying Transactions:(# Of Them)
Then Maybe A ratings column for things like ( Shipping, Description and time took for transaction to happen)
5. Buying Selling And Trading should have a form that you fill out so theres no mix ups about what your spost to put in a buying selling trading thread. EX. (Price, Picture, Condition, Days Used, General info)
6.Less annoying beeping advertisement.
7. Ive seen way to many "How Do I Donate Threads" we should have a big donate button or something.

and would it would be cool if we could edit our posts, but only until someone else posts below, that way people wouldn't
abuse it, but they could still change a post ...
oh and if you cant get the donate button back, at least have a "fund a trip for grifter to get to ski in the US" button...

1. i like the layout its clean and the header is sweet when ads are turned off
2. the new split is sufficient in my opinion

How about this for the good seller/buyer problem:

What if we had another tab in everyone's profile that was "Buyer/Seller" or "Reliability" or something like that. You could go in and rate people or leave comments about a transaction. To prevent people from fucking with other people's rating, you could have a feature where once a transaction is agreed upon, the two members involved get one rating of each other.

Example:
Newschooler A posts goggle for sale, Newschooler B wants that shit.
Once A gets the money from B or is sure the sale is going down, he could send a "Reliability Rating Request" to B. (Lame name, but you get the idea.)
B approves, they each get to rate each other once based on whether they were a good buyer/seller.
If A took a while to send the goggles, B could rate him 2 out of 5 or something. If they came and B was super stoked on them, he could change his rating for that sale to a 4 out of 5 and maybe have a section for B to comment on the transaction process. A could also rate B.
Next time someone is thinking about buying from A, they could check in his profile about his past transactions.

I dunno, it seems like it could be pretty helpful and a little more tamper-proof than just a straight up rating or something. Thoughts?

Change the search functionality to a get instead of post. I wanna make a search plugin for firefox and safari so you can directly search NS from the search bar at the top. Using post data is a bit of a pain in the ass.
