allright so i have had my eye on a jacket for a few days and now theres one day left and its still super cheap. there have been two bids before me both from what i believe to be the same person with two different accounts. both there names have the same letters only one name has *** the other doesn't. i just learned about these automatic bids that bidder can use to automatically up the final bid price $.50 everytime i bid. so this guys gonna have two things adding on to whatever i bid automatically. how can i beat this little fucker?

Wait until 5 seconds left and put in your very maximum bid (you won't necessarily pay that much though)
Or
There is a program that bids with like 1/2 second remaing

They are not the same person. eBay masks all bidder identities now. Only the seller can see anything about the bidders. This is to discourage people from contacting bidders and offering them products outside of eBay. To everyone but the seller, the bidders will look like w***t and h***w and so on. However, it will show you when each bidder has bid, so you can keep track of the different bidders. Your best bet to win an auction is to bid your max bid in the last few seconds. Remember, one's max bid operates on a proxy. For example, if the auction is at $10, and I bid $45, but bidder 1 has entered a max bid of $30, then I will show as currently winning the auction at $30.50. If you bid against me, and enter a max bid of $55, then you will be winning the auction at $45.50. Also, it pays to enter a non-standard max bid, such as $46.79 or something. Good luck!

iFlip is right. Also, even back before they censored bidder names, it was pretty typical to see one person that did a ton of small bids. It always seemed like it was the buyer. In some instances, in may certainly have been, but there have been numerous times where somebody I did not know would bid a ton on an item I had for sale; noobs I suppose.
And auctionsniper is good. I've used it numerous times.
