Call it what you may, but technically and i really don't think it deserves the term "park" either but there is generally a few rails and a bump or two on sunrise.... also known of the late as "kiddy park"
yeah it's the same dude.
and the sunshine park is uber gnarly man.
it takes a lot of guts to hit those booters. it's like super park at bachelor all over again. shit.
If you're looking for anything more than just good parks, don't come here. The mountain is way mellow, pow days blow because you can't keep speed and they don't open the steep enough terrain on storm days. Biggest lines are a couple turns to small rock drops in the Cirque Bowl. But if you're into backcountry, there are plenty of stashes in the area. Get ready for a good skin up.
sleds work best, haha.
But there are sweet places to build some booters on pow days. Im a tahoe kid but cant afford it next year and bend works out easier for my company, so moving to bend next year and the only thing im not looking forward to is how flat it is. Ha thankfully i got a couple sleds to get me around the area to find some sweet shit i hear, plus tahoe is only a 6.5 hour drive :).
On topic, there park is pretty legit this year for sure. Hames has made some big changes there. Cant wait for the private session this spring :).
so kids keep throwin bs around here is what the parks are, i-5 is 4 jumps, too poppy and the lift ride is 30 min...gay, i park has a 6 jump line if i remember right but none bigger than 25 feet which is also gay but good for learning and the lips are def better than i-5, and slope has 3 big jumps, all nice lips, the only downfall is there arent rails at the end, there is only one rail on the side of the jumps and a wall ride down below, but even with only three jumps and the lack of rails hames did a great job with the jumps in that park ...
for all of you who hate on bachelor's park, LEAVE! we've had over 450 inches of snowfall, nice park jumps, nice rail set ups, and more. if you want a better park, go to BIG BEAR or PARK CITY, if you want a faster lift to your park move to KEYSTONE! most of you skier's who bitch about bachelor's park couldn't handle bigger jumps, can barely hang with new innovative rail tricks if at all, and overall can't ski pow or build a bc jump to save your life. LEAVE Mt. Bachelor if you hate it sooooo much. please leave, really, leave, get out of here, go ski your precious park and zero powder somewhere else. what keeps you kids in bend anyway? most of you go to a bullshit community college, have no real job, and aren't going to be pro anyway....leave mt. bachelor, find a new community college, a new dishwashing job, and ski your precious park to learn has been tricks. i'm sure all you of you would give tom wallisch and sammy carlson a run for their money if you only had "a good park." you have a good park, you just can't ski it very well, trust me, i've had a few pros here this last month and they crush all we have and say things like, "your parks sick and the mt. is super fun." sincerely, pete alport.
and as far as the comments towards progression and has been tricks, i've received a few emails, heard the comments in the park itself, and read what's on here about how a skier at bachelor can't progress the way they want, or would be a way better skier if we only had a better park....copout, the're are kids in the midwest who ride a pile of shit and throw down harder than the one's saying, "only if..." so, to the one's loving and living what mt. bachelor has to offer, bravo, to the other's LEAVE!
god damn your statements are full of shit, who cares if he snowboards.
And just cause he speaks the truth, about how lame your excuses are about the park, is just ignorant.
All i hear is dope poppy jumps with steep landings, and tons of snow this year as well. Sounds good to me. Slope i hear is going off. And rails? if you want rails go to a rcr resort cause they ain't got jumps no more just rails.
bachelor has done an amazing job with their parks, they've maintained them year round despite the amount of snow they continue to get. if you take a look at how much meadows talks themselves up and how horrible their parks are, bachelor is beyond amazing. makes me wish i lived in bend.
