Lexan?

iunno where you live, but i can get a 1/4" x 4' x 8' of HDPE (which is the best material) for 59 bones...

well i may be mistaken but on usplastics.com i saw that product for some ridiculuous price.. or am i insane. do you get yours from a store?

ah yes i get it from a store, and i don't have to worry about shipping or anything.

i was watching a mythbusters episode today in chemistry class, they used lexan for shielding.  they said it was bulletproof :O  cept. it was probably like 3" or 5" thick or something.  i want some!

just cause it's bulletproof doesn't mean it will work well for a box.

A bulletproof plastic needs to be somewhat soft, and very able to 'stretch' and absorb the impact of a bullet. That may imply that it will be easy to catch and/or shave off with the edges of your skis.

Also, bullet proof lexan is often only proof for a couple rounds - implying that after long exposure to impacts, it will eventually degrade.

HDPE is a better bet, because it is made to withstand sharp edges over a prolonged amount of time (being a counter-top surface).
