Nah I think it's sick. The only part I laughed at though in the video when they flash the dollar bills in the left hand side. Trying to act as though they're just a greedy resort after money. Well that's what the point of a business is and I'm sure this contest money is coming out of burton's marketing budget. Snowboarder's fuckin awesome but I do get tired of skiers almost putting down skiing when they start talking about boarding. I don't understand why you ski if you think it's so lame compared to boarding.

i think thats sick.  if it were 4 places not allowing skiers and teh world was snowboards dominatied, i think thos conest would be buond to com eup for us too.  so dont hate guys.

I think that when snowboarding couldnt find the searchbarto be of any use  to their sport anymore they lost alot of diehard fans and the market for snowboarding died a little. With a little use of the searchbar snowboarding could've gone so much further and avoided another thread about burton's contest.

I think its sick as aids. Its bull shit that these resorts don't allow snowboarding.

And those ski patrol guys should be fucking fired. Nothing gives them the right to tackle people they are not cops and they are there to keep people safe.

Possibly one of the cooler ideas to happen in the world of snow.  I'm a huge fan of the idea of poaching resorts.  Are there still parks that are only for snowboarders?

its just a marketing scheme people.  they aren't interested in bringing awareness that those resorts don't allow boarders.  its just to show that snowboarding/burton is still rebellious (true to the roots) and that a lot of kids will jump on the burton bandwagon because of it.   or maybe im just cynical.

I'd have so much fun poaching a mountain that didn't allow skiing. I wouldn't be going around smacking people in the ass, but I'd still have so much fun doing it. If anyone on here had any balls would also. Think about it, you'd feel like James Bond or some shit.

I think its a pretty cool idea. I don't see anything morally wrong with it and it could create some pretty hilarious situations. Of course there are some people that are going to take it too far and be huge douches but thats how life is. This isn't really all that different from a while back when skiers weren't allowed in terrain parks.

i guess original idea but pointless, those resorts are always going to stay skier only, vid wasn't that great, but hey i ski so I guess my opinion is biased, i skied at Alta and i liked it, if there were snowboarders it would just get more crowded so thers my opinion.

i relate myself closer to snowboarders than skiers and im sure probably more than half of this site does too.  i think if those resorts dont open up to snowboarding they should expect a lot more shit coming their way.

THAT IS FUCKING SICK. man i am a skier and for ever will be. but snowboarding is such a sick sport. i would love to be good at both. maybe its cause of wakeboarding but i waterski/slalom 3 time for every wakeboard. i wish skiing could grind and butter as stylie (for lack of a better word) as boarders. if any resort ever became just snowboarding i would poach it for sure. that is legendary, good on those guys. and because of the stigma and stereotypes that those places have for snowboarding its all the more reason to dick round and fuck with people.

newschool skiing is pretty much the same shit as snowboarding. Except way cooler looking. The same types of people do it so they might as well ban that if they are trying to ban snowboarders. Not saying they should but if those resorts want to cater to racers and gapers then thats what they should do.

By the way does anyone know if any of those resorts have Terrain parks?

i understand where they're coming from, it does suck that they are banned from some resorts and such. but in the other thread about this, someone made a good remark about how boarders can't navigate certain terrain like skiers can without ruining the snow cover, which is true. so i don't blame the resorts for wanting to keep them out for that reason. however, people yelling out "you don't belong here" is stupid IMO.

yeah i think its a little juvenile.  so they dont allow boarders, who cares?  plenty of other mountains, nearby too.  as a million other people have said, its a ploy to inject some rebelliousness back into a sport which is pretty mainstream now--every tool and their kid sister snowboards these days.

I don't dislike snowboarders, I dislike douchebags.  but a lot of snowboarders are douchebags because the sport attracts a lot of idiots.  skiing at snowshoe, a resort in west virginia where no one has heard of twins before, I experienced the worst examples of snowboarders.

me and some friends were repeatedly hitting this flat-down mailbox which was hella hard to land, and eating shit a lot.  these snowboarders were literally just sitting on ass, like 20 of em.  we lapped them about a million times.  and they were talking mad shit, laughing at us when we fell, etc.  i told em to get off their asses and try something, but no dice.

also my friend almost got in a fight with this 25 year old prick who got all pissed because he had to bail trying to 50/50 a battleship cause we were supposedly standing in the landing, even though we were well out of his way.  he was a major guido

my 2 cents...

First of all, i'm not a hater, snowboarding is sweet.  But to be honest.  Burton is taking "core" to the extreme.  The 80's called they want their rivalry back.  By poaching these resorts, all these kids did was make management happy of their decision to ban snowboarding.  So many companies like  are definitely promoting a unity between boarders and skiers (freeskiers at least), and this only goes and throws shit in the negative direction.  Basically at the end of the day, guys at Alta sat back and said "damn, good thing we don't let those hooligans in here all the time".

If these resorts want to be a bunch of fags, then who cares.  There are a shit ton of sick mountains that do allow snowboarders.  I mean i know it sucks, and that doesn't mean it's right.  But technically.. these resorts that are 100% privately owned... can do whatever the fuck they want.  They cater to a bunch of rich prejudice pricks, and if thats how they want to make their money than let them.  It didn't help that they acted like dicks to all of the patrons at the resorts either.
