Replying to Reputable shop messed up ski mount.....
So I brought 2 pairs of skis in the Sturtevants Ski shop in Bellevue, Washington to be mounted. 1 pair were old Scratches just being mounted for urban, and the other was a pair of brand new 07 Fujatives (the brown ones). I said -1cm from true center, which they wrote on both the tags, and highlighted. Then before the chick mounted them, she called me and I said -1cm from true center like 10 times on the phone to make sure she got it right, but I wasn't really worried, cuz they're a good shop. Well, I get them back today, and the Fujatives look really far back, so I ask to check them.....They were mounted -1cm from CORE center, which is 4cm back from where I asked. The thing is, the Scratches were mounted in the right spot....and they mounted them back to back. I complained and the guy just gave me a $50 gift certificate, and said would remount them. I asked for maybe just more money, but he said no. He said I can talk to a manager when they get back on Monday. I think there should probably be a manager there on the weekend, but he just doesn't want me to make a scene in from of all the packed weekend customers. So, I'm gonna go back tomorrow to see if there is a manager there, and not leave until they give me new skis if there is. I see it as, it's like buying new skis and bringing them to a store, then the store runs to the back and drills 8 holes in the middle of the skis, and gives them back, not expecting you to get new skis. I see it says wholesale on the 08 Fujatives is $220.00, is that what stores pay? I want to go in with a lot of information tomorrow. Also, has anyone else had this happen to them and gotten a new pair of skis to fix the mistake? I'd like the names of any shops that did that to use for reference.
