Can't hit the tiniest rail in the park...

i'm trying to learn rails this year. i'm not sure why but i got a mental block and every time i go up to hit this tiny rail i end up not popping enough, not turning 90, etc...
anyone got a solution?

I was being a major pussy about some jibs this weekend, and it was opening weekend. My first hit, I was super rigid, and I ate it. Next hit, I was confident and committed, and it was easy as shit.

this isnt a dick post, so read it.

dont do the smallest rail. there is no lip, so hit a box with a decent lip first to practice commiting to the 90. yeah,, little rails are sometimes harder than big rails.

Practice spinning first. All you need to do is get the right speed, pop normally and do a 90. Focus on your landing on the rail and lean a little forward, slide to the end and land all steezy and dont claim. haha

look the rail in the eyes and tell it with great confidence that it is your bitch. come up with an aggressive wide stance with the rail in between your legs if it is small, pop, turn, look at the end of the rail,weight on your front foot, and let if carry you off. easy.

straight up and down, you gotta say fuck it. whats the worst thats gonna happen? just charge at the bitch and turn a full 90 degreez. you have no idea how much easier it is to slide at a full 90 then like 75.

i had a similar problem twice this week haha. first the rail at my house, the jump was SUPER SMALL compared to it, i manned up and hit it. first hit FAIL, don't get high enough, smash head off of rail. but then i think, okay, it can't get much worse than that.  i made it on 2nd time but kept sliding off, took me about 10 tries but i got it, and could stomp it everytime. i was super pissed i couldn't hit my flat down rail though (lack of snow).

then the second time i was trying some pretzels on this little 20' rail at my mtn. i was first 270'ing off, to get the rust off. then 270 on fell a couple times gettin used to it again (first time at the hill). then just manned up and stomped it first try.

it's all about confidence my man. you just gotta know that you can and will do this rail. go up to it with a good amount of speed, straight at the rail, NOT to the side and pop up get full 90 degree spin land on the rail nicely look at the end of the rail, get to it and jump off. rail=stomped. next get some steeze into it, and that rail will be your bitch.

everytime i start to pussy out on anything i think to myself i have a better chance of dying when i drive home than dying when i hit this rail, jump, etc it always seems to do the trick

do a couple shots (6-10 depending on your body size) then shotgun a beer. throw the beer can down in the park. then stomp that rail

first off im a snowboarder, so correct me if im wrong.  I would imagine it would help to practice jumping 90 and landing on the snow with perfect form looking infront as if you were on a rail.  After you can land and have perfect form your ready.  I remeber my first rail.  you just gotta hit it.  commit and dont over play it thats what i did with jumps.  just be like i own you!

try it once and if u fall off scream profanities at the top of your lungs till u get kicked out, then u won't have to worry about the rail
