When the atm eats your card

 happened last night and now i need to withdraw a lot of cash asap   the banks like 20 mins away so im wondering if they can usually get it back out of the machine  before i make the drive  no way to call them cause they only have this gay 1800 number . Some lady told me they destroy the cards but im hoping if i go down there i can get it back

wow that's shitty.  sorry to hear that.  talking to them is definitely the best option.  i've never had that happen to me (thank god)

hey man i used to work at a bank as a teller.  When cards get stuck they get taken out of the machine and usually kept for 1-3 days.  Then they usually will destroy them.  But if you go and tell them what happened they should either 1.) be able to just get the card and give it to you.     OR  2.) they'll tell you it was destroyed and one of the customer service or account handling people will make you a new one.

it's not a big deal, a minor pain in the ass for you though

If your card is from a different bank than the one you used it at, they will destroy it.  Atleast that is our policy at the bank i work at...  If its where you bank at, they hold the card for a short period of time before destroying them, so you might be able to still get it back if thats the case....

and its a paypal mastercard used in the atm of bank of america , it links right to your paypal account

it's gone. sorry about your luck bro.
you have to call to get a new one, which usually takes about a week through the mail.
that's happened to me before and it's really fucking frustrating.

It means there's a guy sitting inside the ATM who has now stolen your card and bought stuff with it.

I work at a bank - it is not destroyed, they can open it and you can get it back

I have left a card in a ATM before and they have allways gave it back to me the next day when I go into the bank....
