PURE BIG MOUNTAIN- ian macintosh, as evidenced in lost and found. he keeps nailing these crazy straightline double drops where he launches like a 50 footer, lands right on the knuckle of the second, lauches, stomps, done. insane. furthermore, ak spines: up till now, even the great jjones, nobis, seth, shane etc kinda speed check/smear down these monsters. ian mac takes a more direct balls out approach and as a result, has more gnarly bails, but when he stcks it, oh my...
oh, and ingrid b- shredding so hard for the chicks right now.
ALL AROUND- Erik Hjor in particular, but Abma, Sage, Rory B and now Kye P- these guys are charging super hard in the bc, kill it in ak like the best of them, but give them a sick kicker and they throw down in that environment too! these guys embody my favorite type of skier- absolutely destroy every aspect of the sport- g, abma even is sick at pipe!
PURE PARK- Pk Hunder, Andreas, Gagnier, Sammy: what impresses me is that they do the most incredibly tech stuff, but still keep it really steezy. i love riders with really distinctive style, and i think these guys epitomise this.
PURE STEEZE- I put candide in this category, because he's candide, the single most progressive figure in the history of freeskiing. again, you see a small dude doing a rediculously corked spin on a huge jump, grabbing tail, you know immediately its candide. Jon goes here as well, because he is an absolute steeze machine, and although his pioneering dubflips are technically impressive, its the way he makes it look so easy thats most impressive i think. Then, there's the Idea guys, nuff said i think.
