a backcountry booter contest, but there will be 3 categories for 'winner'. 1) The most stylish 2) The most outrageous and awesome thing 3)Most innovative trick. Judging will be the competitors, it sounds a bit like that orage masters, but i think this will be more successful

or like do a comp where each rider has a whole day to get the best shot or w/e and its judged at a party that night..like everyone builds hits and stuff and then they judge best jib jump etc

There is a contest in Whistler similar to your second idea during the World Ski and Snowboard Festival. Its part of the film makers showdown, and competitors have 24 hrs to make a short film that is then judged. I think that there is a contest around that is rider/shooter based as well.

there was a something like that at blue mtn last season. i didnt see any of the stuff entered, but i bet some of it was damn good.

yep, Blue did sort of the same thing last year. The event really went off with videos, pictures and of course, some drinking. I hope it happens again this year.

ya, the idea is good, but the landing would get run to shit pretty quick, so you'd have to have multiple jumps, or something ....

well for like a compation that would be for a month you could send out newschooler bibs and theyd have to wear them for the clip to be judged.

Its eays to verify its form that day in the begining of the clip eveyrone has to take a bite from an apple or something of odd nature and then do the trick before cutting away. If harvey sponsored it the winner could have a Green or differetn colored name untill the next contest came and then you would have to pass the torch I think it would be a fun idea (not that im gonna win :D)

the problem with haveing a bc contest is getting everyone into the bc. its hard to get people hyped and the media into something that is not easy to get to, there couldnt be a crowd because there is no way you can hall that many people into the mountains

If you are going to do a video or photo contest for a one-day period, you could make sure it was all the same day by having to show the front of that day's newspaper or something like that to start - proof that it is the day you say it is, or at least started on that day...

yeah thats an awsome idea. a great way to promote the site. i think that harvey should check into having a comp over ns.com. the only disadvantage would be the west and east having an unfair advantage over the midwest. so maybe they could divide it up into the western states, midwest and east

it would be better jsut to have a sick shot of the week,andy shot, anyhting, and in the beginning, you have to show that dys newspaper. the shot could be of anyhting (}bc, urban, park), jsut the sickest shot. then you send it to harvey, adn like i dont remmber who said it, but have a differnet colored name, no prizes, jsut the glory of the green name. if we gave prizes, harvey would be losing money. s just the golry of ht differnet name would be enough

it wouldnt cost much money, like once, but wiht shipping charges, every week, it would get expensive, maybe at the end of hte saeson, like a sick shot of the season could get something like that, but it would work if it was a dollar donation to the site to enter, thus voidding harvey of the charges. he does enoigh for us.

there should be three catogories, east, midwest, and west. the winner of each catogorie would get a different colored name. like east would be green, mid would be white, and west could be orange. (just for example, different colors would probably be better.)

just do it like the red bull contest that they have in ak every year. You get one day(mabey its a week, i cant remember) to get one good shot (its a photo contest.) you work as a 2 an team, with a photagrapher and a rider. the rider weres a bib, so that they know when it was taken. at the end of the day, you put all the photos into a slide show at the party at the end of the day, and all the contestants decide which is the best photo, and that team wins.
