Which would you go to? I understand Vail is huge and great terrain but its very expensive and crowded. Snowbird has awesome snow and terrain but I hear they're not having a park this year, or maybe only a little one. Jackson hole has sick big mountain but im not sure about their tram situation, whats up with that?
Anyone have any opinions for me?

J-hole is fucking sick. The terrain there is gnarly, and you can hike even gnarlier shit without much trouble. The last I heard about the tram is that it won't be back until 2010? I'm not sure though, nothing definite at least. And park, they had about 2 booters, 4-5 rails and a half-pipe. I barely did one run through it though, and I'm an EC park rat. Says something about the other terrain.

SNOWBIRD they have tons of open terrain. they have this sweet underground tunnel that takes you to mineral basin. which is amazing when snowbird gets a shit load of snow.

if i went to jackson would i have to do a ton of hiking to find the best-of-the-best terrain since the trams closed? also, is it really cold there? (not a problem for me, but maybe for others going with)

The Jackson Tram won't run this winter. But don't be scared little jedi: Methinks the O.B pow in places like four pines and Granite Canyon gets less tracked w/o the tram.
Only issue: Jackson get's plenty o' sun so it can be FIRM.
S-Bird is close to a bunch of other places, so ya got options.
But it is in Utah.
My choice is J-hole, but you need to gamble on hitting it during a storm cycle.
Utah is a safer bet for snow.
Neither are "park" mountains. If you want park, go to Park City. Or Vail.
Safe travels.

jacksons fucking sick, ill be there again this winter, dont worry about the tram, its easy enough just to take the gondy and traverse over to thunder and sublete to get you to the goods
snowbird is also really sick i would say its a throw up between the two

Couple of questions-
What are temps usually like in February?
Is the terrain to difficult for the average skier?

I'm sure u could find legit #'s for all resorts somewhere on the web.
but in utah its all over the place man. it could be like 15F all month and dumping. or it could be 45 during the day and melting. but usually I'd say february is sick, last year it was awesome. there was about two weeks where it was killer last year at alta, around presidents day, goooood snow. but its hard to say man, u can't predict it. thats why I live here. but for the most part I would say its cold, below freezing, usually not below 0F, which is kind of nice. and hopefully stomry as hell.
as far as jackson: for the most part the same I think, but alot colder sometimes, wyoming gets some chilly shit sometimes. but I'm sure its got a nice range, just a colder average.
and as far as terrain goes, there is crazy shit at jackson and the bird. but jackson I would say has some really gnarly big mountain and steeps. like the good tgr shit. but on the other hand bird/alta are insane too. but I think jackson is just one more step up. but both of them offer all types of terrain, suited for any average skier. and they both have terrain where any skier can step up thier game.
both have alot of sick BC, specially utah, considering what I see out my window.
