Any other big ski sales anytime soon

Are there any big ski sales happening anytime soon.
Pilchuck is having theirs this Wednesday and Thursday. Last year I just bought everything there cause they had cheaper prices than anywhere else, even online. But before I go drop a grand or 2 are there better places/sales anywhere?
I went to Evo the otherday and they still didn't have their ski stuff out.

well there is skibonkers next weekend, which may or may not have what you need or want, then there is ski expo (with a gay new name this year) later in October, and most of the local ski shops will be there sellin stuff. not sure how the hell that's supposed to work, but that's the setup.

K2man - what on earth are you going to spend $2,000 on?! That's a lot of money for ski stuff...

Well my brother will spend some too, I kind of added that in there. And some school clothes that are made by ski companies. I wanna get 2 new pairs of skis though bindings, boots, maybe a coat, maybe pants, some new socks, maybe poles, maybe some goggles. Just depends on what prices they have. Last year I went to Pilchuck and wanted to maybe get a pair of skis and I ended up getting skis, bindings, coat, pants, everything.
I'm just not sure if I should spend most of my ski money at the sale at Pilchuck this Wednesday cause if other sales come up and I want something I won't have much $$. I guess I'll just see what they have.

hmmm my passes are gonna set me back some scrill this year so my goal is to spend $0 on gear, I have enough clothes to last me until the end of time. Unless I break a couple pairs of skis I shouldn't have to buy anything

200 max, i want some that fits decently baggy, but not super thugged out or anything. at least 10g/10g, ideally 20/20.
im moving to back to the ham this weekend, and start work. so i'd be able to come down when i have a couple days off, which i have no idea when that might be.

I am looking at buying a pair of skis, some bindings to go on them, a jacket that is 20/20, and a new pair of goggles. That will set me back quite a bit probably close to $1000, may wait for the jacket. The real killer for me is going to be passes, gas and ferry money. I expect I will drop at least $1500 on those three this year. Then I also need new batteries and a tripod, plus FCS2. thats another $1000.
So that comes to $3500. good thing I have had a job. going to try and get FCS2 for Christmas though.
I gotta save for college too.

I've got 5 pairs of skis... so I should be set on those for 30 years. My boots I bought 3 years ago for $120, they'll last me another 10 years I bet. My poles are covered in tape, I'll probably re-apply more tape this year to freshen them up. My goggles.... are goggles, they work.
I DO kinda want a new coat, but othat than that.... you guys need to learn to ski more frugally (in all fairness my skis were "free", but thats how I got paid instead of money at K2)

Sean, I unlike you, out grew all my skis. or I just never ski on them any more. I do not have a fat ski right now so that is what I am getting, then I will be set with skis until they break. My boots are good. my goggles are falling apart, and my jacket gets wet.

If there aren't any specific brands or models you are looking for, you may be able to find a better deal by shopping online.

Well I'm going down there tomorrow, I'll see how it turns out. I'll probably bring a grand or something who knows. I've been saving a while this summer so I'm pretty stoked.

There was some sort of sale at the Pickering Barn in Issaquah last fall. It was Evo's sale, there wasn't much of anything left by the time I got there. Anyone know if that's going down this year?

Holy fuck, they hyped up this sale so fucking much. There was literally one rack of pants, and 90% of them were gay as fuck. Everything else was GAYper gear and faggit ass shit. no coats, no nothing. They had no bindings but Markers that were on rails, and as far as skis they had only the new Armada Thalls, Pipe Cleaners, El Reys, and for K2 they had Public Enemies and Hellbents. Quite the disapointment. They did have DNA marked down 66% on summerwear and H/H marked down 50% for summerwear. So I got DNA shorts and a DNA shirt. Spent $85 including some shirts my brother bot and saved $140 so it wasn't too bad but as far as sksi stuff they didn't have shit. They also seemed a bit understaffed and they had tons of boxes outside so maybe they just didn't get it in the store yet. Well anyway, they have their real sale called gangbusters the first week of October, and stuff will actually be on sale then, and they have all the company reps there too.

Yup. Thing is, I guess I'm a loyal customer there because they've always given me the best prices anywhere in the past so I usually go back, and my mom knows a lady who works there. Not for boots though....grrr I'll be back there for gangbusters first week of October, I think that's when I got my stuff lastyear, not at this faggit ass labor day sale. I wanna check out evo too in teh winter, but I live on faggit ass Whidbey Island so it's a pain to get down there and shit. And Sturtevants, or however you spell it. Never been there but I heard it's legit. I'm sure you guys have been there so how was it?

haha, I checked out their site, seems like they suck, and Pilchuck is more of a specialty shop. Sturtevants has everything for every sport but nothing really nice, like a big 5 or something?

Sturts carries a lot of stuff. In the winter they don't sell as much tennis stuff, its still predominantly a ski shop.
But its pricey, and full of uppity Bellevue snobs, so be prepared for that.
Evo is much more chill, just go there.

Evo is chill as shit, although there are a few guys at Pilchuck that are pretty tyte too. Sturts seems pricey, and Pilchuck I know is mad cheap at gangbusters, and evo is cheap online and I've never been to evo in the winter so I'll have to try. The store is fuckin awesome tho.

Think of Sturts as though it is for the Warren Miller crowd.

Did anyone who went to Ski Bonkers think it was a disappointment? I saw nothing at all worth buying.

it aint so good, but people still buy lots of shit (especially if they get all coaxed by some of the pushy reps)

Last year I saw a lot of good stuff and picked up some outerwear at a good price. This year, there just wasn't much quality products. I saw a lot of people just standing around rather than purchasing.

selection is not so good. we have some of last years seths in a 189 if you are looking for a big ski, we also have a pair of 194 XXL's which will probably never sell, some good mythic riders with bindings too. there are some 188 07 guns there. two pairs of 176 big trouble demos, line prophet 90's and a pair of 100's (08) a few other line skis some stl's elizabeths (08) 175 VCT (06) soem gots and mantras, no good freeride bindings unless you want to take a look at the new markers, or some new solly 16's (plastic) boot wise we have the spk kaos, Xwing 10, older foils, women's foil, lange 90 and 80 freeride, krypton rampage and the pro, technica agent 80. and spark, beast 10, and a head race boot. If you want some boots look for me, I will have a black dynastar hat on and a name tag that says Xavier or Billy or some other name. I am short and look young. Oh and for Kevin sturts now carries armada acording to some gomer I waist my time talking to. Sean, kevin, or rowen any of you coming down?

Kevin is out of town this weekend, and no I shall not be heading down. Only thing I need this year is a coat, and I will get that at Helly Hansen.

the best deals for bots are always at the expo when shops unload old stock into the used section.

Usually its around the end of October. This year, I guess it will be on the 26th-28th of October at the Qwest Field Convention Center (like it has been in the past). And yeah, usually there are lots of great deals around for both boots and skis. Reps will usually bring some of their demos/random skis to sell in the used area; and in addition there are tons of booths to check out. What's weird is that I heard all the local shops will be participating in it this year as opposed to just Sturts and SnoCon...we'll see how that pans out.
