I'm growing something in my locker

So as a little side project this year, I was going to bring in a rubbermade bin and put it in my locker. I will then fill it with soil and plant a partially grown tree in there. This way, it will be much harder for me to have a bad day at school, seeing how every time I open my locker, a beautiful tree will greet me.
My question is, what kind of tree is fast, and easy to grow in a confined space? Also, I heard that battery-powered grow lights exist, yet I can't find any. Anybody here with a greenthumb?

Bonzai's are hard as hell to keep alive. Good luck with that, they need water and constant temperatures every day. I'd just go and snag a small fir from a forest and put a little lamp in there. You could also grow beans and peas for a tasty class break.
As for fish, go for it. You can get small tanks with a filter system and thermometer/heater for under $100 (check craigslist for even better deals) and keep a small colony of tetra's and shrimp going. If you dont like fish, go for the terrarium and get some stick bugs. Those things breed like crazy and get big fast, and you could take them to class with you.

I dont want something small. I possibly wanted to grow a peach tree or something that I can snack on. And just in case a sloth does magically appear one day, I don't want him to be hungry! Just see what I'm seeing for a second...
Theres a tidy, empty hallway. All the lockers are neatly aligned and theres nobody around except maybe a few security guards. Suddenly, you see Slandis walking down the hall. He was excused from class to get something.
He goes to his locker, opens the door and OH SNAP, branches and leaves are everywhere! He struggles to reach his way to his things and then force the excessive amount of greenery back into his locker.
A security guard walks by and says "What is in your locker"
Slandis says "Nothing...want a peach?"

Dude my dad told me this story of his HS days...
Well he always got hungry during band like in the afternoon. So one day he brought a Foreman grill, one of his buddies brought the buns, someone else brought the meat, etc. They started making hamburgers for the entire band.... During class! Sounds like a blast.

haha, I did that when I was in high school. We'd grill hamburgers and hot dogs in the art room. Foreman grills are awesome.

you should drill or just stab a hole trough your locker or how ever many lockers needed to get to you and just get and extention cord to end at your locker then, attach a light that turns on in inthervals (that you set) and place your camera in there and set it to record maybe half a second for every interval the light goes on(or you could use a still camera). that would be a sweet time lapse, "discovery channel" like time lapse. but i dont know if your camera can do that. and i wouldnt want to leave a expensive camera in my locker overnight.

get a cast iron plant (aspidistra is the fancier name) they grow with no light at all, sometimes they have purple flowers blossom on the ends to make you happy. and you only have to water once a week
