Oakley Question

How many people do you guys think buy Oakley for the quality of the products or b/c of the pros that were it/it beeing "cool"

I think that okaley is a trend. alot of poeple buy it because of the stlye it has-and the material of it isnt the most durrable. I would say 65% look, 35% quality

I buy it cause it looks cool and has enough features/warmth for what i need. And I get it suuuper cheap at the vault.

I think oakley eyewear is unbeatable. They have contracts to Army SF, navy seals to a degree, AFSOC, Marines FR, and all other crazy military acronyms. Not to mention NASA. Something is going right for them.

As for clothing, i think it really is just cuz of the pros. Some of their stuff isnt even that stylish. I think the oakley cohort is a huge scam of a jacket. But id buy it cuz pros wear it. :)

I like it cause its warm, insulated, and fits me good ( im a big fuck, so i need big fucker clothes). Everything is a fuckin shell now. No offence, but a shell does shit fuck all in -40.

haha, i wasnt shivvering. I was irresponsible to wear such a light jacket that night. Pants were fine, but i had that puffy and a light jacket-nothing for those in between days.

matman.....do you know why everything is a shell??? its a little thing called layering. if you take 10 seconds to wear the right layers for the day then you will never be too hot or too cold.

as far as oakley i think they make a quality product. and they have the best athletes in the world to endorse their product. ESPECIALLY their eye wear. you cant get a nicer more rugged lens than oakley. only if their goggles had more peripheral vision could they improve.

their goggles are the best and always have been and they make some really nice stuff like i have a back pack by oakley and its really nice but as far as outer wear goes it doesnt seem to hold up as well as other stuff

in skiing shit is gonna get beat up. and most people buy new shit anyway when their old stuff has tons of life left,

i love my oakley stuff. warm. pretty good waterproofing. stylish.

well i ski about 100% park so durability doesnt matter as much as it would elsewhere. i chose it cuz it looks cool

I have actually worn Oakley a lot because they USED to make the BEST stuff around. Then, two years ago they went to flimsy fabric that ripped easily and dropped a lot of the high quality that made them elite. I still love the 100/80 g insulation though on the jackets. My links pants were my favorite pants of all time, they just ripped easily. So, they would make an amazing product if the fabrics were as tough as some of the denser, three layer stuff.

people REALLY need to stop saying oakley is only for looks and its the "cool" thing to do. Oakley is somewhat trendy but i buy it cause it fits very well and its warm. I dont care about having 9 million waterproofing...and unless you are planning to get thrown in a frozen lake I dont think you do either. Now its the "cool" thing to do to hate on quality companies like oakley. So get your shit right before you hate!!
