Hi everyone! This is the NSTOR file (Newschooler Trade Organization Rating), a comprehensive list of feedback members have submitted in their past transactions on Newschoolers.com. First I'll explain the document, how to use it.
The NSTOR file is currently an excel sheet. If you worked with excel, great, skip this section and start using it! If you havent, heres a quick explanation: Excel spreadsheets are basically data organizers. The main thing you'll probably be wanting to do is sort each column. To do this:
- Highlight ALL of the columns
- Go to "Data" and then, click Sort. A box will pop up.
- Now, just sort by what column suits your need. If you want to find a member, select "NS Username". If you want to see who's the top seller, select "Seller Points"... you get the idea.
Now, to explain our rating system:
The way we see it, transactions on NS have somewhat of a little difference in 'trust' value. If you sell, you have to find packing materials, drop it off at a post office or have some service pick it up. Usually, that means a little more work, so we give sellers 2 Feedback Points for every good sell they have. For Trades, you'll get 1.5 Feedback points. Buyers get 1 point for every time they get a "good buyer!" quote. All of these values are at the top of the columns in parenthesis if you ever forget.
Feedback is basically a total of all the feedback points any given person has. The higher the feedback, the more transactions they have completed on NS. How safe they are to trade with, we leave to you. We've also shown all bad sellers, or complaints members have - bad sellers, be warned, your actions are being recorded.
This list will always be updated for as long as NSTO stays around. However, to make things easier for us, I'd ask two things:
1) PLEASE GIVE FEEDBACK! Encourage everyone you do transactions with to do so as well. More feedback = more NSTOR ratings for you to use.
2) Be precise! Tell us who the member is (exact name please!), if they sold or bought or traded with you and how it went. It can be as short as - "XXXXX great seller!" or you can write your PHD on your buyer for your skis. We'll read it and log it. Also, if the deal went bad somewhere, please give everyone details. If you say someones bad, we'll take your username as well so people know who had the complaint and can refer to you if they are considering using that person again.
Ok, thats pretty much all I have. We're working to get the file for macs, give us a a few hours!
