We have and will have better technology that can destroy the asteroid years before it comes close to us if it were to come down to that.

Everybody needs to calm the fuck down...this has happened before.
Bruce Willis and his crew of oil drillers save the world, partially thanks to Aerosmith's inspiring lyrics.
Armagedon doesn't scare me.

is dowalibeast gonna have to quote a bitch?
ahem...
". The fanciful mission in the 1998 movie Armageddon -- to drill a hole
more than 800 ft. into an asteroid and detonate a nuclear bomb inside
it -- is about as technically feasible as time travel. In reality,
after April 13, 2029, there would be little we could do but plot the
precise impact point and start evacuating people."
Time Travel? Can YOU achieve time travel? Me neither, and I don't think it's happening anytime soon. There is technology to push it off course, but blowing it up is a defiante no. so YOU shut the fuck up. weiner.

physicists dont deal in probabilities. its either going to hit or not. physicists would know right now whether or not its going to hit. it would be impossible for them not to know.

my last run will be the most epic shit ever. Finish session with the crew, spark that one final perfect blunt, blue skys and soft snow, come bombing outta the woods as the meteroid comes down , bomb the whole mountain switch going like 60mph carving and buttering off everything, like 2 mins left to impact, thugs leak a tear, hugs and goodbyes. Bombing crew formation into the 60ft lip everyone right next to each other in the air spinning, corked, busting shiftys, so high RIP

The article also says:
DON'T EVACUATE just yet. Although we can't force Apophis to miss the Earth after 2029, we have the technology to nudge it slightly off course well before then, causing it to miss the keyhole in the first place. According to NASA, a simple 1-ton "kinetic energy impactor" spacecraft thumping into Apophis at 5000 mph would do the trick. We already have a template for such a mission: NASA's Deep Impact space probe -- named after another 1998 cosmic-collision movie -- slammed into the comet Tempel 1 in 2005 to gather data about the composition of its surface. Alternatively, an ion-drive-powered "gravity tractor" spacecraft could hover above Apophis and use its own tiny gravity to gently pull the asteroid off course.

No doubt, a meteor is guaranteed to hit earth, the question is when, people seem to think that the earth is protected by a force field or some shit, but in reality we are sitting out in space, very vulnerable to being hit by a large object floating around in the vacuum of space. That will be an amazing site to see someday too, the question is whether it will be in our lifetime. If we dont kill off our race here on earth, an asteroid will definately take us out someday though, it sucks.

yeh that technology is called Ben affleck. I think if Liv Tyler was gonna be my wife I'd be able to stop an asteroid too.
