Why Breck?

Am i the only one who thinks that the new gondola is a complete waste of money? breck has always been a corporate power house but the advent of the new gondola seems to have crossed the line. im pretty sure we can start saying good bye to free parking and cheap passes. give the rich kids one point on the score board.

^No he's not, free minor lots will be a thing of the past, it sucks
I will stick to non 1-70 resorts because of mass commercialization in summit county

i very much agree with you. the gondola isnt that nice. in fact i think it is slower than riding the bus and the loss of miners and gold rush as free parking realy sucks a lot. will that last, i do not know. it is supposed to be 15 bucks a day from now on to park in those lots which i think is overboard. i already have a parking situation taken care of. but for everyone else, postal and gold camp are the only close in free lots now. otherwise youre down on airport road.

This is a direct result of Breckenridge being part of Vail Associates. Its nice that they bring all of the money to the table because without it there would be no peak 7, no new chairs, and the park and pipe would not likely be what they are. All of that aside I'm afraid Breck is going to become all Vail-ified just like Keystone. All of their close in parking is gone, shops and hotels are now where those lots used to be, the only option there is to walk what feels like damned near a mile. Its pretty lame, the gondy is odd, and I just hope they don't attract any more people to Breck because there is no more room, the lift lines already suck enough.

I know all you guys love Breck so much (for what reason I have no idea) so I will try to be nice. But, basically Breck has become "vailified" worse than vail IMO. The crowds, development, price, the crowds, gapers it's all horrible. Vail is way more convenient IMO than Breck. Less lines usually if you know where to go and free parking pretty close to the hill also if you know where to go. I haven't been to Breck once all year, why? the fucking crowds.

the reason why we go to breck is the park. this year its empty because everyone is at key. i dont know why. and you can still park close for free. if you know where to go.

oh ya the gondola is ok, not really worth the money but they think about environmental stuff too.

everything that came with that gondola is bs though. at least me and freeski1620 have the parking situation solved

I think the gondola is just adding to the rediculously long lift lines especially since it drops you off at the base of peak 8. the lines at 3:45 on a week day are worse than let's say winter park is mid-day on a weekend. I don't like where Breck is going with the whole "let's be just like vail" thing
