I don't know about the taking over peoples lives. I don't know anybody that it has done that too. Then again in college so i don't know any of those highs schoolers that are addicted to it.
Over the summer I was addicted to it now I think its pointless I met a few girls on it through mutaul friends I guess its ok when your out of highschool to contact old friends
worst invention in the past 10 years. people say it's good to keep in touch with people? if you can't keep in touch with people using phones or even AIM, then it's probably not worth keeping in touch with them, because you obviously don't care enough to pick up a damn telephone.
myspace isnt that bad.
you cant really bash another online site that you interact with people if your on newschoolers.
every one of those sites has its pros and cons and everyone likes different stuff right?
i have a myspace, sure whatever just like a lot of people do. im not addicted anymore because id rather go out and hang out with friends. but its a cool place to kinda meet people in your same town that you HAVE met before.
say yu go out with your friends and they see their friends so you all go over to talk. you dont just flat out ask for that persons email address. on myspace you can sorta just message them and be like hey i met you once. blah blah.
and if they didn't feel it was necessary to notify you of the change, then do they really keep in touch that badly? if i wanted to keep in touch with someone and my phone number changed, i'd certainly tell them.
myspace itself isnt too bad. I have one, and millions do. When things get excessive... then it starts to get rediculous. what is also nasty about myspace is the whole subculture that has emerged from it (the fucking endless self-taken photos that look the same as every other one, a rediculous amount of "friends," "leave a comment" bullshit, wasting hours on it, etc etc.). yea
