Is there any way to boost the signal off my wireless router
My base computer is downstairs and all the way across my house. I got signal fine but not awesome. My load time on the internet is not great and was wondering if there was a cheap thing to buy or ghetto way to rig it so it will boost my signal better?
I have the exact same problem, I just bear with it, the tin foil idea sounds well... unique. How weird would that look if the parentals came home and saw a tin foil bowl attached to their router
I saw how to up the power of your router on a website once. It involved installing hacked firmware (and risk turning your router into a paperweight) and boosting the energy usage to levels that might overheat the router.
you can buy wireless range extenders which do what there called in that they extend your reach of wireless. its like another mini router, only the feeds come from your existing router.
This sounds expensive. I will try the tin foil thing, or I guess try to get my neighbors to get wireless on the close side of their house lol I bet they are cloer than the other end of mine
