Finally planning my honeymmon to Switzerland, what do you think??

So I've already posted a couple of threads and people have been very helpful but we are actually going to book the trip and narrowed down where we are going. Here's what we were thinking: flying to Geneva around feb 3rd and then taking the train to Zermatt. We were going to rent an apt. in Zermatt for 2 weeks. Apts. are the cheapest option where we can leave valuables and not worry. We figure we can base ourselves there and then even travel by train for day trips to other resorts if we decide to. If you have ever been let me know what you think. We are one skier and one snowboarder, Is it pretty easy to get to other areas from Zermatt?? Any advice would be great!!! Thanks!!

i would probably say a travel agency would be a better place to look than newschoolers

I know that but you would be surprised how much good info you can get form locals that know alot more than travel agents. Thanks for the advice though!!

I was in switzerland a bunch last year and skied at St. Moritz and Laax.
I also visited Bern, Lucern, Zurich and Chur.
For skiing I wouldnt recommend St Moritz, its basically just a place to be seen and spend thousands of euros per night on over priced hotels. The skiing is pretty shitty, lots of 'flat' runs.
Laax is amazing, especially if you ski park, but even if you don't its pretty sick. lots of terrain and cheaper accomodations.
Lucern is definitely the nicest city in my opinion in Switzerland. Check it out for sure. Zurich is overpriced and nothing particularly special, Bern is the capital and has amazing architecture and Chur is close to Laax, good place to crash for even cheaper.
Also check out Interlaken if you can, another awesome city.

Zermatt is the most balla place ever. period. Just stay there and go to Cervinia for lunch one day.

Yes it is, maybe with the exception of St. Moritz. What alos sucks is that cars are not allowed in the village. Doesn't matter for you americans but it sux if you travel there by car.

^ it costs like 8 francs for a fucking roll of bread in st moritz. expect to pay 40 francs for a drink, soup and a piece of bread if you plan on going to st.moritz.

what are the cheaper options that would be a good place to stay for 2 weeks that would be easily accesible by train or car to other countries and resorts??
