for the life of me i cant figure out how to fit my boots. i got fitted a few years back and packed into a 27.5, but even after that packed out, my foot was cramped (and i got major shinbag, probably due to the shittiness of the boot). i wear a size 10 shoe, that actually fits me, in fact, my toes touch the end of my shoe, kinda strange, but im used to it. i wanna go with a 28.0 foil, but they feel just SLIGHTLY large for me, it could be that im used to cramming my foot into a race boot from back in the day, but im also flat footed, which probably doesnt help things. any ideas?
the people at my ski market blew dick they tired to sell me 161 invaders and im 6' and hey didnt know anything and boots or the fit or how to fit and thats my rant about ski market
i fit boots professionaly at a shop in VT. for performance skiers you always go one shell size down from what they measure. I shoe size is a 10.5 and my boots are 260. Boots are always best small.
I think the thing w/ that though, is that he's had problems in the past w/ that train of thought... I wear a 10 shoe also and a 27.5 Xwave9.. a few things to consider..
1) Dif brands def fit different: Lange is super tight for example and Salomon typically fits a bit large
2) 1 shell typically doubles for 2 dif sizes. For example a 27.5 is the same shell as a 27, but the one marked 27.5 has less material inside... so the 27.5, if it fits tight, won't pack down as much...
3) Never go w/ a boot that fits even "slightly" too big in the beginning..
yeah, thanks, that makes a lot of sense. i wanna get my feet measured and fitted again, because my foot may have grown since my last fitting. salomon boots are a bit roomy and itd take a miracle to get me into langes(wide feet), but most people with my size foot wear like size 12 street shoes, but i play basketball and my shoes are really tight. but yeah, trying to fit online is a pain in the ass, so ill just cart my lazy ass to a real shop before i shoot myself in the face, thanks all
