I know most of you kids are 'freestyle' skiiers, but Im looking for some new skis, And I spend maybe a third of my time in the park, and the rest on trails, I'm currently rocking some K2 Omni 3.0s and i've throughly beat the shit out of them for two seasons. SO I'm looking for a versitle ski that i can use on the trails, as well as in the park, oh try to keep the price on the low side if posible.
Haha, I run cross country and we get that all the time when we run through downtown: "Someone feed that kid!" I'm 6'3" and around 158, it really isn't that skinny.
Anyways, chronics or karmas if you want a stiffer all-around ski, unfortunately karmas are pretty popular, so way too expensive. I dunno, it seems that most twins made nowadays have a decent amount of torsional rigidity, so i wouldn't worry. I've got armada ar5's and i can still race down groomers. Maybe try rossi scratches too, or addicts if you can get your hands on a pair.
Find used pair of 185 Scratch BCs, 179/189 Seth Vicious, 185 ARVs, or even 183 Gotamas. Don't waste your money buying a sub-par new ski when there are so many quality used skis out there.
ill tell you my quiver since were about the same height and size.
191 armada ant's with fks 185's
185 armada arv with fks 155's
182 dynastar troublemakers with p12 jib's
181 armada pipe cleaner with fks 155's
180 armada ar5 with pivot 14's
176 armada t-hall with p 12 jib's
i like the longer skis for pow and i do a lot of park/ groomers on the thiner skis. the pipe cleaners are going to be the main skis this year. there super duper sick. if you're looking for something for everything, go arv or jp juliens.
