Setup question

aight i'm goin to get myself some puckboard, i already have a 12 ft. box made from laminant, so should i just re-do the topsheet on that one? what i ws thinking is that i would leave the laminant box and then make a new puckboard a little lower and put them back to back like at rail jams, but would the change in material screw u up as u slide?
