Replying to Does Anybody still love to Rip Bumps?
Hey Guys,
Correct me if I'm wrong, but It seems like a lot of the "newschool movement" (which I am not intending to rip on in any way as I'm sure I'm equally a part of it) has kinda been hinting towards bumps being lame, old news ect.., is this true? I noticed in an issue of Freeskier a few months ago in an interview, the interviewer asked the skier (I forget who), "would you ever be caught dead skiing a zipper line through bumps?", and I though "hey, if you can, who WOULDN'T be caught skiing a clean, fast zipper line down a sick bump run?" I guess times are a changin' though, I don't see many kids my ago ( early 20's) focusing on really rippin' bumps and getting real comfortable in tights trees, ect... I dunno maybe I just haven't been skiing with the right people, but it seems like every time I am hitting a gnarly bump line at A-Basin or Breck or Vail most of the guys I see are twice my age. Don't get me wrong I love the park too, buy is there a place in freeskiing for new-school skiers with old school skillz? :)
Interesting in hearing responses,
Peace,
Phil.
