Please tell me when I said I could barely afford to live? Also please stop trying to pretend you have any idea about my "quality of life"...I'm quite content with the life I lead. I don't think I could be content "pissing my life away" on a surfboard 7 days a week either. When you grow up a bit you may realize theres more to life than surfing/skiing. Don't you want your kids to be able to enjoy what you did while you were a kid? Do you want to be the one to tell them they can't go skiing because you were too busy goofing off when you should've have been starting to grow up and make something of yourself?
Just because I worked alot does not mean I did not have a high quality of life. In fact quite the contrary. I was in posession of my own house for the summer. (house-sitting, so i was being paid to live there), and had a really good time doing so. I could come home from work at 8 to all my friends 3 to 4 times a week and have fun with them at my house. I also did plenty of other things I enjoy to do. And really I don't think I'm the one pissing life away.
I've worked 5 days in the last month. Because, I'm now at school enjoying the rewards of my labors. I work hard in the summer so I can ski in the winter and so i can focus on school. I hope that's ok with you...
Dude fuck that. thats not what its all about at all. what alot of people have on ns have forgotten that by supporting companies who are skier owned an operated they are supporting some fellow skiers dream of creating something dank we can all benefit from. fuck if im going to support some stupid high fashion company that jumpped on the bandwagon just because skiing is cool. if you want to be a fucking tool for the corpro side of the spectrum than by god go buy their massively overpriced shit. peace.
They sponsor one man, Jon Olsson, big fucking deal. JL is nothing more than a European A&F. If A&F suddenly sponsored TJ Schiller or Danny Kass (not to say these self-respecting individuals would ever sink that low) it would be the same exact thing. A fucking fashion company trying to get business by trying to pass themselves off as a legit skiing or snowboarding company by sponsoring one person and that one person's once a year event.
You may realize there's more to life than work. As I said before, no person can maintain any kind of quality of life working full time 7 days a week at 11 hours a day. No one.
Ok, this thread needs to lie dormant until JL stuff is actually availible for purchase. Until then, its anybodys guess on the quality and whether its worth the price. But come on, based on just looks, that stuff is sick, no question.
I think its a legit issue. But if you look at it closely, its the companys that were originally born as ski companies that should be credited for fueling the ski industry not some new european fashion lable that makes 2 jackets and makes more money off of 120 dollar t-shirts that in retro-spect are worth 10 dollars and maybe another 5 dollars for the screen printing.
Both Sid Vicious and K2 i think got off of the real problem by making it personal. My opinion of JL Futuresports? They're winter line is ok, but if they want credit of being a big card holder in skiing and wintersports they shouldnt charge such a ridiculous amount for their outerwear. Becuz thats the only way they are going to help out the youth and the people that make this industry go bang.
good point, but I was just saying that this guy probably can't afford JL, so he might be making up reason why it's so bad. I'm almost sure this guy has never actually tried on a JL coat, or any of his clothes for that matter.

jl is not a thing like a european a+f. a+f is high priced mainstream clothing. jl is designer clothing targeting to a completely different group of people.
and lindeberg has been making outerwear for quite a while before they sponsored jon, so why dont you do some research before you claim theyre 'trying to get business by trying to pass themselves off as a legit skiing or snowboarding company'. and i suppose that oakley isnt doing the same by dropping millions of dollars to pay for the salaries of their well stocked pro team while sponsoring riders is countless other sports? its not about the money for them, right?
I know theres plenty more to life than work, as I stated i've worked 5 days this month and have been enjoying myself at school.
And FYI I have a fine quality of life. And soon enough will have a much much higher quality of life than you when i can go to work 9-5 5 days a week, leave my job at work, and make 110K+ a year. Or, i could go to work 3 days a week and ski 4 and make 65. Either way.
I'm done with trying to prove to you that I have a high quality of life. You can ask my friends, some of them on here how my quality of life is and i'm sure they will assure you that it's just fine.
Exactly, lindenburg has been making fashion outerwear long before they started making snow gear. They got into the ski industry through Jon Olson and are now trying to pass themselves off as if they are supporting it.
Oakley is a different story completely. They sponsor and support riders from many different sports and extreme sports and this forms their base and following. Oakley is not a fashion company that suddenly tried to get into supporting extreme sports. Oakley has made money because it is a legit sports company.
Ok, to start off this thread has completely made a fool of you. Why the hell do you care what kids are wearing, why would it be "low" for TJ or Kass to be sponsored by A&F (If they made ski wear). I see no problem with that, If A&F made a quality product, fuck yeah id want them to sponsor me too. JL isnt even overpriced, its the same thing as all ski wear, Burton has much more rediculous prices, I was in the NYC Burton store they had a jacket for $645 that was marked down 45%. Also bagging on Parker for working all summer and not having a life, complete bull. Unlike you, Parker is in college where most people in the world have to support themselves, to an extent. Also, since he is in college, his mommy doesnt give him a curfew and he doesnt get tucked in at 9 30 every night. By the looks of it he got off at 8 each night so he could still go out to the bars and all with friends for hours. I also highly doubt that you ski in white tees, its fucking winter, you dont wear a t-shirt
haha, he's from Chile dude its one hell of a hot country, just look at the name of it...
as for the topic, im with parker on this one. Sid, you are one ignorant idiot. I've considered buing JL, but then i couldnt find it anywhere and gave up. And i've worked my ass off for the past 3 years to save money for school, skiing and everything else... i havent' had one day when i didnt have a job(except for days off). I reached the level, wher ei can afford good gear on my own and buy what i think looks good and is practical(which is the most important factor), unlike the tall teel or the ball jerseys that are ugly and arent even considered as outerwear...
j lindeberg started as a company that supported golfers, Johan lindeberg is actually a very big skier himself, he worked his way up from nothing in the fashion industry to becoming a pretty big designer, so i think he can make whatever the fuck he wants, no offense to racing but he could have made spandex suits and gaper gear, but no he decided to start trends, JL was making neon color FREESKIING gear long before anyone else and look whats hot right now. so id recomend laying off because the man is making cool ski shit, making good money abd fucking lots of models.
Neon colored ski gear far predates lindenburg. I have a bright pink Head one piece from 86 if anyone is interested. If you're going to wear bright colored gear, get the authentic shit from the 80s. You're right that lindenburg can make whatever the hell he wants but its we who decide whether that shit sells or not.
I'm resigning from this thread,
JL is wack, end of story, goodbye and goodnight.
Best of luck to all of you, especially Parker, I hope you achieve your goals man its sounds like you work hard for your shit and I can respect that. I regret that we had to get into an argument over something as trivial as J Lindenburg.
yes ok there is old neon shit, but JL brought it into NEWSCHOOL SKIING, and guys i really like how everyone is passing judgement on a man they have never met, i was lucky enough to meet him and he was a real cool dude, not a stuck up fashion snob.
translates to "i was completely owned, i cant try to argue any more because ive already made a complete fool out of myself. im gonna go and drown my sorrows with the tony montana and watch scarface because im gangster as fuck"
dude, tj skis for paul mitchell, simon dumont skis for target, these are not core ski companies, let alone anything to do with skiing whatsoever. sure, paul mitchell sponsors events, but so does j lindeburg. atheletes want to ski for a living, so thats what they do. and how do they get paid? sponsors. so why not sign deals with a company that will pay you well? just like j lindeburg does with jon.
The line which you are looking for is the future sports line, which J Lindeberg no longer makes so your chances of finding it are slim to none. His new line will be JL Classics but it wont come out for another month or somewhere around the end of November, but look for that line to be different and more expensive.
fuck that j lindeberg = too expensive thing
i spend my weekend in laax and they have j lindeberg stuff in a shop... and the outfit kicks ass.. (the one jon wears nearly all the time) if i didn´t buy my new stuff already i´d definately take one of these..
they have the same prices like orage, a company that is loved by everybody...
