so i was bored today and was wandering, ended up down on 4th and decided to go into comor to look at skis and stuff, when i get a big shock when i walk in and see a wall full of snowboards.
so i ask the lady at the counter where all the skis went and she tells me about how the (whatever that store on the corner was called - i don't know, i never went in there) went out of business and that pacific boarder (aka - comor) took the building over and are turning it into their 'high end ski store'... but it won't be open till mid october ish.
I want to look at skis now!!! but it's ok i guess, it's about time there's a good shop dedicated to skis (not a snowboard shop with skis in it) on 4th.
another thing about comor - I went into the Burnaby comor and while i was there i bought MORE (absinthe films) for 39.99 +tax, then today while on 4th I walk into Boardroom and they were selling it for 33 +tax. I was quite disapointed.

Thats cool that Comor is taking over Westside's space, but if you want to see new skis head to Comor downtown. North Shore Ski and Board also have a lot of their stuff in now.

Comor Burnaby is a fucking joke. Through some complete fuckup called Chris, I ordered Look wide brakes at the beginning of beginning of May, and he said that it should take a week or so because the distributor is local (not sure if that was true or not). He tells me they will be 40$. Two weeks later I phone back, and the guy says he forgot. So I was all, "Ok fine just please order them." Three weeks later, I phone back, he says "Oh sorry I put the order in they just never came." So, he says he would order them again, right away. I get a call in fucking middle of August, telling me that they've finally come in and I can get them any time. So, one week later, I take the bus there, glad that I'm finally getting the brakes. Some dude tells me "I have your bindings, but I can't sell them to you because I don't know the price, because Chris (yes the fuckup) quit a week ago and left me with a pile of paperwork. So now I'm pissed, and he tells me I can get them tommorrow. I walk in the next day, and ask to buy the brakes. Some other guy I had never seen before tells me "Oh, you have to wait 10 minutes till the other guy gets back because I don't know where to price them. He went to get drinks." This wouldn't have normally been an issue, but I was meeting someone afterwards and I was already running a bit late. Then the dude walks in with his fucking Orange Crush and tells me I have to pay 54 bucks. I said told him bullshit I was told 40. Then his spineless ass backed down and sold them to me for 40.
And that's why Comor Burnaby mongles cock. Go to Downtown, that's where the cool people work.

Comor Burnaby is a gigantic waste of time and should have been closed by the company years ago. They hire girls that snowboard 3 days a year to run their snowboard section (but they made out with each other to get their manager to give them a ride home last season..so...ya! Cool!), and up to last year, had the Vancouver ski scene's most incompetent store manager running the store and the ski section. Thankfully, they found someone who's much more qualified to run the shop, but the damage has already been done, and it'll take years to fix the shit that's gone in that store. Flashy new fixtures won't do it, either.
If you need to shop at Comor, you need to shop downtown where the people who know their shit as far as skis are concerned are at. Schmuck, Nolan, and Josh won't fuck you like Burnaby did, and actually care about skiing.
Not having wide brakes in stock, at all times, is bordering on lunacy in this town.

comor downtown saves me from utter boredom, i work on robson so i just go in on my break, the poor staff must think im a stalker, i show up like every lunch hour and stare at the new skis. everyones nice enough though!

hey, i found out something interesting last night while eating turkey dinner.
so westcoast sports is no longer. the reason why they are gone is because the weren't paying PST. so the gov't did an audit and told them to change their shit around... well they didn't and the gov't came back and did a re-audit. and just like that they were gone.
so pacific boarder decided to take over the location for their ski shop right. well, while they went in there to start ripping shit down and get it all ready they noticed that westcoast sports wired all their lights and stuff off of pacific boarder. so pacific boarder was paying the bill for that stores lights and shit the whole time.
i just thought that was an interesting piece of information i would share with the croud.

Bro who works(ed) at the one on 4th was trying to sell me karmas but he rides for salomon. So don't generalize.
On another note, i was lead on to believe this comor was gonna be a FREESKI store, i was sorely dissapointed.
They should tear down the wall and make it just a big SKI section.

Ok, Comor on 4th is VERY unprofessional. Maybe it's because they just opened, but the store downtown is incredibly better on all aspects.
I bought a pair of gotamas there 2 weeks ago, but decided to wait on bindings and find cheaper ones. Well they have this sale right now where last year's stuff is 50% off, so I went to check it out yesterday. First off, no price on bindings, so they go check, and tell me that last year's P12s are 1/2 price, so about 150, with wide brakes. Naturally, I went back today to get my skis mounted, and the douchebags tell me they can't find them, and tell me that PX12's are $370(WTF???) and I could get a deal for 250. They still didn't know the prices of other bindings, and I have a feeling they just make them up on the spot, it seems like only 1 or 2 of the salespersons even know what they're talking about skiingwise. Then they tell me I could get a deal on S912's for 200. I decide to leave and go check downtown, and what a surprise, this year's PX12's are 250, and the S912's are 150. I was gonna go for S912's but the salomon wide brake isnt wide enough, so nothing...
There is my rant, I may sound like a very demanding client but I'm really not since I know exactly what I need to buy. It's just that unorganized people that make up ridiculous prices and don't know what they're talking about piss me off.

What I dont get is
Okay, Comor owns pacific boarder correct? Several guys working at Pacific boarder know/knew(if they still work there since they dont sell skis anymore) what they were doing quite well. The people in the 4th comor know dont get it.
Bullshit in my mind, and a really bad business move. The checkout girls are far too young looking too.
