im just curious are any of you sponsored? i know people will say that there overrated and you should snowboard for fun which is true but im just curious if any of you are. oh yeah and if you are by who
Meh, sponsorship is overrated. It can ruin snowboarding for you, Scott Wittlake, for example. (this isnt just in snowboarding) THe pressure to perform, compete, make a sick video part every year, it gets stressful
^ his video is pretty dirty.
and competing can be fun once in a while i usually ride better in comps for some reason but id never want to do it more than once a year. i just like to go for personal satisfaction.
i like comps once in a while cuase i like ridng with other kids and i usualy push myself at comps. a lot of the times when i ride its with my parents (im 14 and the mountains are a while away)so its fun to chill with kids with the same interests
hahah im not sponsored by them. someone a couple posts up said who would u want to be sponsored by. haha i tink im gonna work on grabbed threes before looking to get sponsored
i just realized in my other post that it sounds like i want to be sponsored by monster, etc. but i am sponsored by them.
my fantasy sponsors: burton, volcom or nikita for streetwear, nixon, vans=if only they did just a footwear sponsorship, nature valley=if they did sponsorships.
burton bindings didnt have that great of fine tunability and forum bindings did so add more fine tunning to burton bindings and thats the new forum bindings
I knew a dude who was sponsored by burton and he still had heapsa fun, was like only 13 and got moved over to Oregon or Utah from New Zealand... he had never even ridden a mountain before he was sponsored, just this indoor park.
no i think paying retail prices for equipment is overrated. i havent paid retail since like 92. i rode for a few different compnies through out highschool. only once inmy entire carrer was did i have requirements to meet, and i dropped that sponser as soon as the requirements were laided out
i guess it does matter at what level we are talkking about, but at the bottom end when you are just getting free and cheep shit there is not much downside
