im from tacoma and go to school at wsu. i go to schweitzer or tamarack. schweitzers closer, about 2.5 hours. When it snows everyone attacks the golf course, its tight. i work at tesoro, come in and ask, the ski scenes alright
I was about to say no, but I guesse I am wrong. Actualy I am in pulman right now, and their really is nothing to do out here in the summer, all the pools are crowded with 5 yearolds, so basicaly it's NS and TV to keep me entertained. kind of sucks.
Cow-skiing is big over there. On a muddy day, lasso a cow, jump into yourr bindings and wack it with your pole to get it started. I think the point is to see how long you can ski behind it or something.
So IN pullman, the golf course/driving range is where its at for booters/kickers.
Ski areas: Schweitzer 2.5 hrs, Silver 2.25 hrs, Bluewood 2 hrs, Mt. Spokane 1 hr. Schweitzer has the best terrain, Silver is the most fun, plus the longest Chron-dola in the US, Bluewood sucks, but its easy to get to. Mt Spokane is pretty small.
Yeah, I don't know, I haven't been back there in like 4 years, but I did hear that they were building the new course. Basically, look for a dump, find a hill and build...there's plenty of it around, plus, they won't be working on the course in the middle of winter...I wouldn't think....
the golf course in barely under construction, they're just moving the tennis courts over to the driving range. also, when the snow hits there's handrails all around campus, there's actually a few qnarly ones. but other than that, its schweitzer, silver licks balls just like all the rest around.find someone in spokane to spend the night and leave in the morning, or stay in sandpoint and box some local cowboys
^Evidently you haven't hiked the peak, or been South Of the Border at Silver...Fun mountain, not necessarily the most techie...but they had $199 season passes for students when I was there.
i go to silver... its decent but i only chose there over schweitzer because i get a free pass. silver is pretty good except they dont have a very good park if thats what you are into
maybe i'm missing something but whats this whole thing about golf course skiing and booters and shit? is this golf course on the top of a mtn or something?
no this is in pulman WA, which is in the pulose (sp?) which means it is a bunch of rolling hills so the golf course will be covered in rolling hills. Also it snows in pulman becaus it is just cool like that.
wsu is not a skiing school man!! First of all silver sucks ass and is 2 hrs 15min if you r smashing and schweitzers 2 hr 45 to 3 hrs depending on conditions!! Schweitzers pretty dope though!! Never been to Tamarack. So too be honest its not like you can just roll up there at 12 in the afternoon and ski for 2 to 3 hrs and go home. You have to make a whole day out of it. After boozing that drive is pretty discouraging at 5 or 6 in the morning
haha, very true. actually the reputation here is changing quite a bit. it is much less of a party school now than it has been in years passed due to the most recent president. the ski team basically just does slalom and gs against other schools in our division. uw, u of o, albertson, u of i, and many others. its pretty fun, but most of the cool people from last year arent doing it again so it might suck this year. last year i joined just so i could meet some people that ski, i didnt really give a shit about racing and still dont that much. it ended up being really cool because most of the guys on the team owned twins so we would sesh the park when we werent training. its pretty laid back for the most part and we train a feew weeks and then compete in 4 races on different mountains. although the team is pretty full this year so im not sure if anyone else would be able to join. some people could possibly be quitting tho.
