ok i have downloaded the new vesion of counterstrike (v1.5), and it still says i can't join servers because they are operating under a different protocol. i have uninstalled, then downloaded it twice now, and the son of a bitch won't work

im pretty sure it can, i have an amd 1.9, and a 60 gig hard drive. and a g force 2 video card

the servers probably aren't running 1.5, so they see your config files as altered and think you're a cheater.

haha, reinstall halflife, and CS... you have a valid serial, right? Are you on a network w/ a firewall? That could be a problem.

i am on a cable hub that goes to my and my moms computer. and i bought half life, and it works, it has for like a year, but i went to try and download counterstrike, and it downladed fine but it says operating under a different protocol, so i can't use it. it says that my version isn't updated but i got the latest version last night from planet counterstrike

dude all you need to do is patch halflife... your version of halflife isnt updates, you may have counterstrike updated, but you need to update HALFLIFE too...

Splinter Cell is on PC as well, and it benifits from the superior hardware. Higher resolution monitors and such. But its not MULTIPLAYER. They are two different genres.
