eh that is sometimes true. but a well made teaser could perhaps bring insight to the film, the editing of the film, style, etc. If it is just some shots one after another, then perhaps that is what you could expect from the final production. The first teaser was fairly unimpressive
the movie will mostly likely be like the trailer meaning one shot of ski after the other. That's why it's called ski porn. Idon't know why everyone seems to bash because he does that. It may not have plehouse style editing (which is really good) but i love watching ski porn too.
PBP movies are awesome, if you are going to say do something different then name something thats wrong and how they could fix it. Any mindless twat on the internet can say DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT!
All the PBP movies have the same style, but unlike MSP's newest films,
PBP's unchanging style still feels new and refreshing. I like it.
And
maybe a teaser isn't an accurate representation of what the movie looks
like, but a production company should try as hard as possible to put
out the best teaser possible to get people pumped for the film. The
teaser is supposed to sell the movie. I'm glad PBP is coming out with a
final teaser, because the first one was kinda lame.
I disagree.
I really wish you would elaborate a bit actually, because I don't see much difference between poorboyz and msp at all. The only significant difference I see is that poorboyz has weaker cinematography. To me, they both make pretty lame movies.
What they are doing: Filming individual athlete segments...sometimes you see the same thing throughout the movie. There is no story behind it, just straight up "ski porn."
What they could be doing: Actually opening up their mind and creating a movie that's different, maybe with some sort of story line behind it so you can actually relate to the athletes and how hard it was to get a certain shot or how easy it was. Also this way you wouldn't see the same feature over and over, you would just see it at that certain point in the movie.
If you disagree with me, cool, you obviously want ski movies to be the way they are forever and I'm not calling you an idiot because of that...I appreciate your kindness to other human beings that do the same sport you love creating a nice, loving community.
YEah, those where good points, I just hate it when peolpe come out and say THIS SUCKS and have nothing to back up with, or a fresh idea of their own.
plus this adds more depth to the conversation.
i agree. PBP trailers never appeal to me cause theres nothing in there but i KNOW itll be good so i always buy and its always so good. its not like youre waiting for the part in the movie with that trick (ie. flatty - rail in LSS). i hated the teaser to War and it was amazing. same with X. PBP kills
TBC did a good job of breaking away from the cookie-cutter ski movie model by unpackaging the individual segment-- e.g. Tanner's rail footage separate from his backcountry footage--but not going full montage-style. Although Ostness has always spread out each person's footage, so that's nothing new for him.
1. it's just a trailer, and 9 out of 10 of you will buy the movie.
2. Maybe they don't change because if it ain't broke, don't fix it. They are who they are because of their movies.
I think that as movies go, their's is different now as everyone is pushing the lifestyle format movies, like Plehouse, and Teddy Bear Crisis(not that these are bad, they kick ass, in fact, it's just different).
Ski Porn will rock, because it's Poorboyz, their "equation" thus far has worked for them.
