yeah, on a good shift at work i'd make about that..
during the ski/board tent sale, everybody makes like $250-300 a day for a week straight just firing out all our old stock. it's sick. there's nothing better than talkin skis with a bunch of random shmucks, and gettin paid real nicely for it.
the most i've ever made was in a 6 hour shift. i sold $3700 in goods, which, at 5% commission, put $185 in my pocket, which is what, 30+ an hour or somethin? pretty sick. that's excluding the crazy events we usually have quarterly..
moral of the story, commission can be good to you, but the inconsistency is stressful as hell.
shit, i just remembered boxing day. DEFINATELY get a commission-based job for then. you get TONS of sales, and since its a holliday, you get time and a half. in fact, the entire month of december, and even january are awesome. tons of people buyin shit.
so , i definately advise people to pick up commission-based jobs for those two months. you'll make plenty of cash. workin part time (anywhere between 40-60 hours a week) i was gettin $500 paychecks minimum, with an $1100 paycheck after the boxing day period. well worth it.. but like i said, times like now, the stores are just dead. people pickin up a bike or some blades every here or there, but there's no consistency. hit or miss.
