should your weight have anything to do with how big ur skis are on you..like if you weigh less is it better to have shorter skis. like im 5'11 140 and ride 169's
def man....the less you weigh, the shorter the ski you want. i would say you should be in the 170s somewhere. for example, if you were 5'6 and 180 you might ride the same ski as someone who is 6' and 150
it affects what ski you ride for sure, but as for size, maybe a little. and if you are 5'11'' than why 169s. you should be at least 180's. im the same height and ride 183's. but yeah, if you are heavier than you want stiffer skis
height has to do with center of gravity. longer skis accomodate taller people and vice versa. Weight affects the skis flex.
less weight needs a more flexible ski. maybe that helps.
I think recently, some people have bought way too much into the "longer skis are better" trend. Skis should be roughly your height, I mean obviously it depends on what you want to do, but your height is a good measurement for skis. If you ski big mountain, get bigger skis. This dude I quoted is a bit ridiculous, 5'7" isn't too bad, but 110 pounds on 174? That is too much. Sure you may look "steezy", and you may claim they work better, but you would be better off on short skis. I personally ride 174s and I'm 6' 170, but I've had these skis for like 4 years and my next pair is gonna be 180 something. That is my little blurb on ski length.
it also depends on hieght and boot length, i dont remember what it is exactly but i remember longer boots make less din, if i were u i would go with a din of about 8 im 170 and my din is cranked up to 10/11. uru shop will probably put them lower than u really need so probably crank them up a little bit more
