im guessing almost eveyones answer will be countless, for me if im riding park that day a lot then i fall at least once a day if not way more, most are nothing just oh damn kinda falls but its stil eating shit
Many many times. I had three huge double ejects to faceplant-frontflip early in the season (all but 1 in powder). Then I lost a ski in some windpacked but deep stuff and ate it down the rest of the line. Hiked back up to find my ski was nowhere, then had to dig out a huge area to find it, that sucked. Then on the last day of the season I was hiking and had a huge slab rip out under me and carry me down a chute, which was a little hairy.
I think there's a difference between falling and eating shit.
Personally I've fallen so many times this season, but only truly ate shit 3-4 times (double eject, poles flying, goggles came off, lost a glove, and major pain)
Maybe five big falls on kickers where I was concussed or nearly, and had to check myself over and end my day right there. A couple of bad falls on drops and rails, chipped and dislocated left thumb from repeated slams, torn right thumb ligament from a fall on one rail.
tons of times...mainly becasue i started spinning on and off Jibs so i sacked myself alot, and landed on my waist/hips so it basically was very painfull to walk by the end of the season. a couple times i smashed my face on a rail and/or box and landed flat on the "big" table...ie.putting my knee into my face...shit like that
uh once i was bombing the groomer in mineral basin at snowbird and it went up and then dropped down on the other side and i assumed it went straight, but it cruved, so i went flying into a mogul field going sideways on the slope, and at max speed. i really just fucked up my tumb, but it hurt like a bitch.
and another time i hit a hip jump for the first time that week and was going fast as shit. the week before it had just been built and had a nice lip so i leaned forward as a iwent off, but the lip had dissapeared over the week and i landed on my face, helmet. very painful
one that really stood out was towards the end of the season for me. I was just cruising the park like any other normal day, and went to do a 5 over a jump. I ended up overshooting the jump, landind 630, smashing my head, and shoulder on the east coast ice. Somehow, no injury occured, yet i thank god i was wearing a helmet or it wouldnt have turned out well, my head still fuckin killed though. I also lost feeling in the arm i landed on for like an hour, but i turned out fine, so what the hell.
i had some bad falls, i had some really scary ones in trees where 1 ski caught a tree and i got spun around, i really get scared when i fall in th trees because im afraid im going to hit another tree
The one really memorable one was when I jumped a 35 foot cliff to find out the landing was not nearly as soft as I had hoped it would be. I ended up landing so hard I actually hit a couple of the vertebrae in my back together which are still hurting me right now.
dozens and dozens. Hell, i fell four or five times skiing today. But this year i only had four really bad crashes that stopped me from skiing for a couple days afterward.
a bunch, i had some sweet double eject when i was trying out this hip, it was mute 180, to double eject, to face plant and i couldnt get it, but then i did and i realized my friends screwed around with my din
it seems like some days I eat shit reaptidly on the same spot, while other days I don't ever fall. Some days I will continuosly find a way to smack my head in a whiplash type manner repeadtidly
Ah countless times. I dont know how many double ejected, overshot, undershot, etc. My favorite was when I overshot a jump and biffed hit hard, gettin a slight concussion, broken thumb, messed up my shouder, shin bang, and my shit was all over the hill. Shin bang was killin me for a few weeks, worst pain ever.
Another good eatin shit was at Schweitzer Mtn in Idaho when I was skiing switch really fast and cause some crud right at the top of a hill and I proceeded to tumble all the way down the hill. That was classic.
I hurt my tailbone in one of many many falls (i leaned to far back right before goign off a jump. I was mostly just not paying attention. I landed straight on my ass form liek 25 ft in the air....thats sucked majorly)
