I also remember the fucking awesomeness the day that I discovered the Deleted Threads Forum. Haha. I think mods took notice when I started posting in there. That forum is fucking awesome, I wish I was a mod just so I could read that shit. Hilarious (aside from the blatantly disrespectful shit).

to whoever asked...in the URL, for the forums, you used to just be able to change the thing that says "cat_id=" to any number, so there were all these "secret" forums which were crazy, because the mods weren't really in them.

those forums werent too secret!....they were just located in such an inactive place barely anyone ever scoped em.
I shuolda deffinatly explored threw them more while they were still around tho.

Yah, back in the day you could just put any number you wish into the "cat_id" field in your browser's address bar and post that hat forum category.
When I took over, I made the forum post page check to make sure that the category being posted to actually existed. ;)

Bringing this thread back to life because I just had a reminder about the secret forums.. I'm the web guy for the penn state snowboard club's website, and I wrote custom forums which are really similar to the ones NS had/has. I was testing the new version of the site yesterday and noticed that I had the same exact hole in my forums.. where there is an infinite number of "secret forums". Sooo cool.
And then there was cults.
