It's the sickest trick you can do on a rail. I don't care if you 450 on 450 off, if you can nosepress, you're god.

I hope somebody was there and can prove me wrong but...
I don't believe that eric pollard was really nose pressing that.
I mean, everybody knows how soft line skis are, right?
And if you examine the picture, sure he's leaned over quite far, but the skis are barely flexed at all.
I figure Pollard has to be somewhere between 140 and 170 pounds.
Do you really think that the tips of a pair of LINE skis could really support 140 pounds of weight?
I think it was probably a really good nose tap on a very short rail.
But whatever, I'm a cynacist.
I'm over it.

I'm gonna agree with MDFresh. But yah, if he was, I would think it would be mad hard. It would look gay if you just slide it like that really fast and then hopped off...but if you could take the whole rail like that it would be sick.

i'm pretty sure it was real. My line skis are pretty stiff. They don't really bend when I lean forward or backward. Why would they put a fake caption on the picture.

if you look at the pic carefully you can see how much pressure he's applying forward. he's on a slant too

i thought it was a noseslide he did, when i saw the picture he was sideways nosesliding it,,, nose press is when you lean forward and your tails come up (hence nosegrind in skating or nosepres in snowboarding)
maybe i saw the picture wrong i dunno,, both tricks are really cool though

your a fucking idot, hes not actully putting all his weight on his skis, that would be soo imposable, hes just airing the rail but sliding his skis as he airs beside if. If you belive that he was somhow balancing all his weight on the tips of his skis you are a retard, even if all the torqe didnt pop off your binding it still wouldnt even work.

ok, if you get on a rail reg, you just slide you feet out to the side, you CAN slide rails like this. its not impossible. oh, we are hopefully hittin a big urban rail tomarrow, might try to nosepress it, i still am workin on um, but i might give it a try. its a 5oft long rail down the side of a garage at a church. there is a 10-15 ft drop of the rail, and it slightly angled down. should be sweet!

i think they only look cool if you skis are bent and you can tell that there is a lot of pressure on the rail. but if you just touch em to the rail a littl it kinda looks gay.

ummm sliding your boots oout would be a noose press, more like a 3 inches in front of your boot press, a true nose press would be like within 10 cm of the verry tip of the ski

Ok, i don't know what you guys are talking about, but it would be physically impossible to slide on a rail on just your tips with your boots off the rail, your center of gravity wouldn't be in the right place whatsoever and you would just fall backwards or slide out. There is no way to actually put a lot of pressure on the rail and still be on just your tips. you could air and just slide your tips along, so it looked like you were sliding on the tips of your skis, but you actually arn't, its impossible to actually slide on your tips with all your weight on the rail. When i hear nose press i think it refers to a vertical stall table or wall ride where you press your tips against the wall and make them bend, this is possible if you are in the vertical position, but not on a rail

ok, for the record, that slide eric pollard does is NOT a nose press; it is a nose SLIDE. a nose press is a front foot one foot slide (like a nose grind on a skateboard), a nose slide is where you slide on the noses of your skis.
i'm not going to argue over this one because i'm right for once. and there's a big can of worms that can be opened here about bluntslides and etc but let's not get into that.
