i'm sick of seeing movies put their best shots in the trailer. leave some element of the unknown. the trailer for the new lakai film does a good job at this. it establishes a feeling and at the same time leaves the viewer wanting to see what went down. take a lesson from these guys:

honestly i didn't really like that teaser. there was almost too much going on and although they may not have shown any of their full clips, they probably went through half their footage by playing a different clip every beat

With a trailer/teaser, you want to avoid showing full clips. Who cares if you showed a bunch of portions of various clips from all over. the point is to make people want to see each and every part of the full clips that are in the video by teasing them with tidbits of the full shots.

A trailer/teaser is an advertisement for a movie. you don't want to give up the whole big trick in an advertisement.

not to say that anybody should cookie cut that teaser. just dont flood your teaser with the shots people are going to buy the movie for.

it's all about what you wanna achieve with the trailer. I've seen amazing trailers that show the best of the best, and some that have shown next to nothing that were just as good. You have to know what you want to do, and think through it and get the feel down, but you can use whatever kind of footy you want.

I got the sense that you were being sarcastic before. I wasn't sure, so I decided to defend my self, but seeing as you know your shit about my movies (because we all know PLE was far better then EST), I think that you were joking around.

But I still say that you can make the trailer however the fuck you want.

i think its easier to make a trailer like that for skating than for skiing, because you don't have all that urban shit going on like you do in skating, you can skate anywhere and make a nice film scene. with skiing its a lot different in my opinion. it was a good trailer but was a little long for what it was.

the important thing about the trailer is to get the same feeling as the movie but without showing everything just by teasing the watcher.
