not at all neither is NEXTEL theres is 15 cents per min unless u get anunlimited plan, the whole walkie talkie thing isnt good because you need to have everyone have then same plan and not many people do, they are good for small/big bussisnes so you can easly be reached right quick like my uncle owns a garbage truck bussisnes and they dont need CB's to talk on so they have Nextels and then they have a fone so they can like call the person but id say dont get one unless you have to or have a group of people you would use it with, by far Verizion has the sickest set up free calls to anyother "IN" person, and night and weekends are so great, also the "IN" text messaaging for $5-$15 (depending on how many outa plan tets you want) is very nice pics flixs and texts.
